@Caleb I went to a dermatologist when I was 16 because my hair was thinning on top and he explained that the different parts of your head have different kinds of hair follicles. That's why men will often lose hair on top but not on the sides, and not beards or moustaches or eyebrows.

@JSBᾶngs I don't know, it sounded at once euphemistic and of a culture different to my own, such as Asian or African. I don't use the word "boy" much for adults.

There are of course "old boys"; but here it sounded rather like the name of a band or something that is supposed to sound a bit streetwise.

The only way I can reconcile it in my head, to make Boy or Girl in a title/name not seem sort of silly or like a put-down or archaic phrase used for a servant ("little boy", "little girl", "Boy, bring me some water right away") is to associate it with names reclaimed by counterculture movements... Boi, Grrl, riot grrrl...
