The codex entry on lyrium says the following:
Even though dwarves have a natural resistance, raw lyrium is dangerous for all but the most experienced of the Mining Caste to handle. Even for dwarves, exposure to the unprocessed mineral can cause deafness or memory loss. For humans and elves, d...
@Frank Ohhhh! No wonder you didn't run into any vulgarity. That video was someone else. Robbaz is the one who's really well known for Viking Space Program
I recently started playing RIFT again, and this time I prefer playing a healing role. I had a question about the target self key you can set in Settings > Interface > Combat. I disabled Auto-Self Cast as I prefer having a modifier key held in to cast a spell on myself (Like in World of Warcraft -...
@LessPop_MoreFizz I don't follow your logic unless you're simply saying you think it's a game that sucks and people who play it deserve a sucky time. :)
@Sterno Playing Mafia is like putting together a puzzle, except you have to do it upside down and all of the pieces are loudly calling you a moron the whole time.
> The thirty-something-year-old has had her fair share of grown-up disappointments. Since moving to the city three years ago, she's been laid off twice. She is also a mother of two.
That's because you spend all your time on STUPID IDEAS LIKE ADULT PRESCHOOL
I'm working from home today. All of a sudden I hear my daughter WAILING from downstairs, so I go down to check what's up. She's crying because my wife won't let her put her hands in her mouth between spoonfuls of food.
The other day my daughter, who has recently learned the art of WIPING HER BUTT, got some on her finger. She promptly shoved her hand into my wife's mouth.
@Sterno She doesn't understand that some things are too big to grasp yet. She just puts her hand on it and closes it and if it's too big she doesn't understand. So recently, when that happens, she gives up and just tries to put her mouth on the thing where it is instead of moving it to her face.
> The game can be a bit too "clever" and can be hard for some to get. It's hard. It's unique and not a clone. You will die lots. It's not like other RPG's where you win easily vs everything. Please don't give negative feedback unless you can actually beat level 1. It's similar to HOMM with unit stacking.
> There an enormous amount of strategy under the covers. You just need to look. Give it 1~3 hours and see if you still don't like it. You won't. You'll love it because you'll actually get what it's about.
@StrixVaria I think it comes down to all of us wanting to differentiate and be magical snowflakes of glitter and wonder, and the world doesnt work that way
@AshleyNunn I don't like people who think that kids can't be allowed to lose. No. You're not going to always succeed at everything you try, and that's fine. Learning that that's fine is part of growing up.
@StrixVaria The idea that we are all unique and special and should all be allowed to do our unique and special things and that you are a failure at adult if you just do things that say pay your rent and feed you and no one should fail ever because we are all special just makes me want to puke
@GnomeSlice the last part is a bit over the top, true

@StrixVaria Sorry for the rant, this just irritates me sometimes as a person a year out of uni who is literally working to pay rent and not in something I love, and people don't get why I can't just "go do what I want"
I haven't been on Minecraft Computer version in a while, but today I went on and used two mods, which are the Team Crafted Mod and the Crazy Ores mod. I select my profile and Game Version and press play. After I do that, it dissapears and My Minecraft game doesn't show up. It works on regular ve...
Is there any reason for a collector to own a famicom disk system, if one is not interested in odd hardware but just access to playing native games?
all the titles i see around for the disk system are also available as cartridges for the famicom. Or are there exclusives?
@OrigamiRobot Yes. You learn a lot by losing. But it's also important to try to make the new player have fun and not just mercilessly crush him over and over.
I'm not going to use my turn 1 win deck against someone who is just learning the game. A, it's not going to teach them anything an B, they're not going to have fun.
I won't let someone win if I'm teaching them a game but I'll go easy on them or help them with strategy tips about how to counter me (assuming it's a game with depth which can be hard to determine strategy for right from the start)
@Sterno Yeah. Generally what I'll do is use the first game to explain rules. I'll let the new player make mistakes and after the game I'll explain some of the things they did wrong. Once they have a grasp of the rules, then I'll give strategy tips as we play.
@Chippies I'm not experienced in the specific games he mentioned, but the fun pays off in the long run when the new player is actually able to compete.
@OrigamiRobot Yeah. You need to find the balance between not crushing them so badly they never want to play again, but still showing them things that will help them next time.
I just go into every first play of a game assuming I'm not even trying to win, and just focusing on learning rules and figuring out why the more experienced players are doing what they do
I'm a lot more likely to go easy on someone with a game that has hidden information rather than one where everything is open. Otherwise they learn the wrong lessons, strategy-wise
@Sterno In games with "hands", I usually play the first game or two with a new player with hands exposed so I can focus on rules/strategy rather than guessing games.
I mean, if that's the way people want to play, more power to them. But the harsh reality is that if you're expecting a free mulligan in a format that doesn't allow it, you're going to be evaluating your hands' keep-ability worse.
The other day my daughter, who has recently learned the art of WIPING HER BUTT, got some on her finger. She promptly shoved her hand into my wife's mouth.
As a Jewish Person with a Mother and a Sister, I can 1000% vouch for the authenticity of this account, in verisimilitude, if not in real, actual accuracy.
@JasonBerkan When I used to play games with my dad as a kid, if we got to a state where I thought the game was unwinnable for me, we would switch sides. Then I would lose anyway.
@murgatroid99 Which I would use 903.8 to modify when playing EDH. I realize I'm arguing the spirit of the rules here, but in reality, if someone tried to tell me I couldn't mulligan to 7 on my first hand in multiplayer EDH, I just wouldn't play with that person anymore :P
@OrigamiRobot I'm just saying that that's what the rules say. If you're arguing that there should be a free mulligan in this situation anyway, maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge how I play casual games
@spugsley I got a softcore one super fast(with my friend) because I almost never play softcore alone. My hardcore gem took me more then a week of farming for it for hours every day.
