@IsaacMoses (and everybody else) Jin has sent me the logo in vector format so we can edit it if we want to. Do we have anybody with the skills to do so? I was thinking that one (easy?) thing might be to add four candle holders to each side and one on the top of the logo, so the logo forms the center of a chanukiyah and holds the shamash. For each day we add a candle.
This is a speculative use of the word "easy"; I mean that this wouldn't seem to involve actually moving things around and stuff, but I myself do not have the know-how to do what I've described.
@MonicaCellio I don't have any particular skills, but I'm game to mess around with dragging points around a bit and seeing what happens. I think if we want to find someone with skills, we'll have to ask in a larger forum.
Does anyone here have some graphic arts skills? We're looking for someone who, given a vector drawing file of the MY tree logo, could morph it into a menora.
@MonicaCellio I was thinking that the Rashi-script leaves could also be flames. The problem is that there aren't eight or nine of them. I was thinking maybe "מי" for the shamash and "חנכה יודע" for the eight flames. It's a little bit off, since I think the standard spelling of Chanuka includes a 'ו', but it's not horrible.
@IsaacMoses I'm open to any ideas. Probably somebody will need to mock some of these up for people to look at. I think I can visualize what you're describing but I'm not sure.
@IsaacMoses what kind of font info? (What question should I ask him?)
@IsaacMoses I've just sent you the logo file. Let me know if it's "obvious in the raster file" and, if not, I'll ask him. (Sorry I'm so graphically challenged; for all that I'm pretty good with words, I've fallen woefully behind on graphics.)
Numbers 17:2-5 describes the covering that was made for the altar from the fire-pans of Korach's rebels:
[...] 4 And Eleazar the priest took the brazen fire-pans, which they that were burnt had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,
5 to be a memorial unto the childre...
@zaq I hope you'll pardon the intrusion. Mi Yodeya is working on a publication for Chanukah and we remembered your skill with, and interest in, graphics (like that cool diagram you did of the altar cover on my Korach question). Are you still around, and if so might you be willing to lend your talent for this project? If you could pop into the project room (from which I'm writing this), we'd appreciate it!
