To be fair, they seem to have branded the final product as "Dungeons & Dragons" without any modifier, while "Next" is their beta codename.
Which has a whole slew of different ideas.

I dunno, I think there's a sense of movement and progress which some people associate with it.

DyndrilliacThe text on page 32 of the Basic Rules that talks about copying spells does not explicitly state that the process consumes the scroll.
