I don't necessarily mind representative democracy and just letting the moderators decide, but I think it helps with the community feeling if it was a majority decision rather than just an edict.

I like @bwarner's suggestion myself.

@Brant I agree with that too, but I feel like we've done the same thing with ITG. Nobody wants to start a vote because of how game-rec went.

I think if @mana is elected, he should just ban the ITG questions along with anyone who protests. That should solve all the problems.

@Brant with this I agree. Contrary to others, I consider my attempt a success :) yes, it was very controversial, and I would have preferred it if we didn't have the whole withdrawing-suggestions debacle. But we ended up with a policy, and we've been enforcing it ever since, which is much better than what we had before.

Well, ITG isn't really as critical a problem, it's just been more of a slowly-simmering low-level annoyance.

But it has been big enough to get Jeff's attention on multiple occasions

The main thing is that I don't want to spend an entire two or three weeks or so debating ITG. But I guess if that's what's required, that's what's required.

@Brant The number of new ITG a day seems to be increasing though, which is making it more of a problem.

@Oak Yeah, the process itself was fine, the only issues were that one solution should have been axed before the meta topic was opened, and that it took so long for us to get there.
