Codeine is a really effective cough suppressant. The issue with Dayquil is the dextromethorphan. It's similar to codeine and can cause excessive drowsiness together. But, if you're taking them far enough apart, no issue.

@Alex Changes aren't bad. Look at Minecraft. Many questions that haven't been updated in 3 years are sorely out of date, but they're still here. If you're asking about past versions, you just have to justify why. If you make that justification, and it's reasonable, you probably won't have to fear the downvotes.
