@Gilles sorry for the delayed response. At first glance I would say no - that seems like a chemistry question, not a physics question.
Generally questions about properties of materials themselves are not on topic here, although questions about why those materials have those properties could be okay. So it's possible that the question could be reformulated to make it on topic for physics.
To put it another way, a good question for physics.SE should encourage answers like Sauris Ferniwick's, not like HorusKol's.
