Q: Why mtdblock drivers are not reliable as mtd character drivers?

user116003I saw that the dd fails when I tried to output a squashfs image on to a nand flash.However, the same works when I try to dd on to the mtd character driver. of = /dev/mtd works of = /dev/mtdblockx doesn't work. by the way this might explain why less voters participate in our CV queue. Those who focus primarily on closing recent questions may simply have no votes to spare for the queue. 7 questions to close in an hour mean that all 24 votes will go away by simply reviewing stuff thrown into the front page in 3,5 hours
