@trg787 I sometimes feel that way too. I have to remind myself that I was educated to do different things than my parents' generation and I don't have time to learn everything as well.

It can be frustrating if you need to pick up a basic skill, though, that you haven't learned along the way. I am terrible at cooking, for example, and I have little patience with it.

I love baking.

I like baking when there are very explicit directions and measurements, down to the time something is to be in the oven. I can usually succeed there. But tell me to do a dish on the stove "until golden" or "to taste" and I'm ruined.

It's good. The things I worry about are very superficial, and not at all related to survival. That's why I feel very bad for you.

@trg787 I live on the East Coast of the USA, but things are good for me as well. I worry about my career or future sometimes, but I don't have to worry about having enough to eat. Even when my parents were poorest when I was growing up, it was poor in comparison to peers; we never wanted for basic needs, so I don't quite know how I would feel in your situation.
