1:26 AM
@JasperLoy 'Twas a delicious dinner.

15 hours later…
4:00 PM
@Mahnax I don't think that's the reason, there are questions like [this]($x_1=11/4$, not $27/4$) which are voted up despite being closed as general reference which is worse than duplicates!
@JasperLoy We live among these people, I need to know what they really think when they hit the down-vote button. If the reason is something more important that they're not in the mood of questions like that.
The thing is, EL&U is based on some so "top users" opinions. The com.munity will remain so as long as the system works like that. I'm really sorry

@Gigili Nice link...
@Gigili Sure, it's based on the top users' opinions. But then, we ask ourselves, "why are they the top users?"

user19161
4:19 PM
@Mahnax Hi!

user19161
I got 7 downvotes altogether in the past 7 days.

user19161
Going to eat now, later.

user19161
I think someone here is unhappy with me hence the downvotes.

4:42 PM
@JasperLoy Hi there! Enjoy your meal.

user19161
5:18 PM
@Gigili I'm a bit surprised you use "live among", hehe.

user19161
@Mahnax I'm back!

5:33 PM
@JasperLoy How was food-consumption time?

user19161
@Mahnax Well, I had a double cheeseburger.

@JasperLoy McD's?

user19161
@Mahnax Yup. Did you eat anything in the morning?

Ahoy thar landlubbers =)

user19161
@N3buchadnezzar Boo!

5:35 PM
@JasperLoy Yes, two muffins.
@N3buchadnezzar Ahoy there, viking.

user19161
@Mahnax I saw you deleted your post on Mariah and unfollowed my blog, understandably so.

@JasperLoy I did not unfollow your blog, but I did delete the post.
I put up a post about SE.
I have one about computers in the works.

I need some serious advice on a very serious matter. I am traveling back to my hometown for wintervacation, and therefore need to empty my fridge before doing so (Now is the time to say oh, dear...)
Would baking pancakes using beer be possible?

@N3buchadnezzar Hm, are you in Canada? I'll come eat!

user19161
@Mahnax Oh OK.

5:37 PM
@N3buchadnezzar No, but you can make pizza with it.

user19161
@Mahnax Scared Mariah would find out?

user19161
@Mahnax Good good.

@JasperLoy Nope.
@N3buchadnezzar Never mind! allrecipes.com/recipe/beer-pancakes

I might have enough ingredients for a pizza....
Oh, great idea! I was also thinking about a nice, egg, maccaronii, rice, tomatosoup combination. Thanks guys! starts making pancakes

@N3buchadnezzar I sincerely hope you're joking about the combo there.

5:40 PM
No?

user19161
@Mahnax It sounds delicious actually.

although I am skeptical when reading the reviews for the beer pancakes "I made this for my kids, they love it"

@N3buchadnezzar Well, maybe.
@N3buchadnezzar Alcohol cooks out.
That's why kids can have beer-battered fish n chips.

Clever!

@JasperLoy Hmm, rice and eggs and macaroni?
@N3buchadnezzar Indeed.
Not a fan of tomato soup at all though.

5:43 PM
rice and macaroni are an amazing combination, and eggs are delicious. I cant see how that could go wrong?

@N3buchadnezzar I have never mixed rice and macaroni, it seems like it would be too starchy.

Well I am a student, so perhaps that explains a few things

@N3buchadnezzar So am I! Probably just in a different level than you, if you have beer in your fridge :P

I have one can, and that is used as a rolling pin for baking =)

@N3buchadnezzar Haha rolling pin, nice.
You in university/college?

5:46 PM
It works amazingly well!
Uni

Uni.....?
Oh, ....versity.
Well, got to go, bye all!

2 hours later…
7:43 PM
Wow! 3 silver badges in the past two days.

user19161
@Mahnax Nice! How was lunch?

8:33 PM
@JasperLoy 'Twas decent. Hamburger soup.

8:57 PM
Just a suggestion, mixing every ingredient in the house to make dinner, does not make it delicous..

@N3buchadnezzar Haha! What did you do...?
Hello @FallenAngelEyes.

3 types of ham, the type you have on your sandwiches. I fried those in butter

@N3buchadnezzar You fried cold cuts...?

Then i made some scrambled eggs mixed with blend of spices for barbecue grilling
@Mahnax Yea
Then I cooked up 3dl of rice

@N3buchadnezzar That couldn't be too bad. But the fried cold cuts, I think would be pretty gross.

8:59 PM
After that was done I made 2dl of macaroni

dl meaning decilitres?

And while this was boiling i cooked up some meatsoup

Hi @JasperLoy.

user19161
@Mahnax Boo!

@Mahnax Yes deciliters (I am not an inbreed englishman, so pardon my english.)

9:00 PM
@JasperLoy How art thee?

user19161
@N3buchadnezzar Yum yum.

@N3buchadnezzar Ah.
@N3buchadnezzar Inbred? That's rude.

user19161
@Mahnax Same. I am going to have a double cheeseburger for breakfast in two hours.

Mixed the meat soup, the cold fried cuts, the rice, and macaroni in one big bowl, and ate the scrambled eggs as a sidedish.

@JasperLoy Hmm, lots of cheeseburgers. Do you ever get tired of them?

user19161
9:02 PM
@N3buchadnezzar Yum yum.

@N3buchadnezzar shudder

user19161
@Mahnax Well, I think the last voucher was used up. That's the only reason I am eating them, cos they are free.

@JasperLoy Where did you get so many vouchers?

user19161
@Mahnax Don't know. My mum got them from buying some other stuff I think.

@JasperLoy Hm, okay.

user19161
9:03 PM
@Mahnax And I still have one more can of free abalone.

Greetings.

@Cerberus Hi!

user19161
@Cerberus Boo!

@Cerberus How did it go?
@JasperLoy Nom nom!

Very well, thanks.

user19161
9:04 PM
@Mahnax What?

@JasperLoy He had to make a dinner with his brother.
@Cerberus Good, good.

user19161
@Cerberus What did you make?

Cerberous wants some suspicious looking food ?

First salad with quail's leg and eggs and more stuff.

hands over big bowl of leftovers

9:05 PM
@Cerberus Wow, quail. I'm proud.

user19161
@Cerberus Exotic!

@N3buchadnezzar watches Cerb reject it

Then a bisque (soup) with giant shrimp and scallops.

@Cerberus drools

No no, he does not know whats in it. How could he reject "delicious" food?

9:06 PM
Then Beef Wellington (tender beef en croûte).
Then a lemon tiramisu.

@Cerberus Those are amazing. So, so good.

user19161
@Cerberus I think you can open a restaurant.

@JasperLoy Seconded.

Then cheeses and port.

@N3buchadnezzar Ha, right. "Delicious"

9:07 PM
Thanks! But my brother planned it all.

@Mahnax Hello. :o Unexpected ping was unexpected.

@Cerberus Port is wine, right?

user19161
I got 7 downvotes the past 7 days...

Yup.
Sweet, strong wine from Portugal.

user19161
@FallenAngelEyes You always come here but say nothing.

9:07 PM
@FallenAngelEyes I ping people who just pop in randomly. I don't believe I've ever chatted with you though.

Hey Angel.
Any changes in you sleep cycle?

@Cerberus hm. The only wine I've ever tasted was awful.

@JasperLoy The room's on my faves! I don't always have this window open because if I have too many chats open, I never get anything done.

@Mahnax Wait, how old are you again?

user19161
@Cerberus 15.

Jez
9:09 PM
Port isn't really wine

OK.

@Cerberus 15. My father allowed me to try some to put in our French Onion soup, which we prepared for my mother.

Jez
as in wine you can drink lots of

I hated wine at that age.

Jez
it's very sweet

9:09 PM
@Cerberus It was very cheap wine.

@Cerberus Yes, actually, I'm on a new medication which has a bit of melatonin in it to help me sleep

Yeah we drank a tiny glass of wine at that age with special dinners, but I didn't really like it.
Cheap doesn't help!
@FallenAngelEyes Oh! And that works for you?
I tried melatonin: didn't work at all for me.

Wine is not that great

@Cerberus I personally do not consume alcohol, but I did that one time, since my father permitted/encouraged it.

Valdispert?

Jez
9:10 PM
i'm amazed at the number of people who have trouble sleeping.

Captain Morgan, however is my best friend!

user19161
@Jez It's a sick world.

@Mahnax You will come to like it in your twenties, probably.
@Jez You too?

user19161
Sick people make others sick in a different way.

I suck at sleeping too.

9:11 PM
@Cerberus I have never tried any other kind. I imagine that I would enjoy some kinds if I were to try them.

user19161
@Cerberus I am still nocturnal and still suffering.

I'm off to cart children away to the park.

I liked very sweet drinks when I was young, say 16–18.

screams, dies inside

60% liqour and Orange juice is also a nice drink, of you put the liquor in the freezer, it will only taste like orange juice.

9:12 PM
Like Martini.

But perhaps it is not advisable giving out such suggestions here...

@JasperLoy OK good to know, in a way!

The advices above are only for those old enough to drink!

The drinking age in public places is 16 here; in private, most people give their children a single glass of wine for dinner a few times a year starting around 13 I think.

user19161
I once drank half a bottle of wine at one go.

9:14 PM
@Mahnax Oops, good luck...
One go means without putting down the bottle?
That's three glasses.

user19161
@Cerberus Why is that good?

Jez
hmm, why does the Limerick poetic meter just sound naturally pleasing to an English speaker?

@JasperLoy In Dutch we have a saying: shared pain is half pain.

user19161
@Cerberus Means putting down but within a short time though.

user19161
@Cerberus You are suffering greatly too?

9:15 PM
@Jez It sounds equally fitting in Dutch to me.
@JasperLoy How short?
@JasperLoy I am a very bad sleeper, yes.

user19161
@Cerberus Maybe half an hour.

@Cerberus Me and two friends shared a 1.5l 40% and 1l 40%, mixed with coke and orange juice. I object your statement about shared pain, is half pain

user19161
@Cerberus Oh OK, though my sleep and suffering are two different things though related.

@JasperLoy Okay, well, that is fast, but not extremely fast. Unless you're not used to alcohol or on an empty stomach.

user19161
@Cerberus It's amazing how alcohol makes my voice drop a few notes. Does it happen to you?

9:17 PM
@N3buchadnezzar If you drank 750 cl @ 40 % in half an hour, that IS a lot.
@JasperLoy I don't think so, no. A hangover does, though.

More like 4 hours

That's 20 glasses.

user19161
My favourite pub closed down.

user19161
I could go in for free before 10.

@Cerberus Melatonin I bought at the Minerva didn't work for me

9:19 PM
The sugar would have helped a bit I guess, but you must have felt awful the next day.
@JasperLoy Do pubs normally charge you an entry fee?

The medicine I'm on now doesn't just have melatonin, it works on the receptors that process melatonin.

@FallenAngelEyes Minerva?

user19161
@Cerberus Yes 25 dollars for one drink and entrance.

@FallenAngelEyes Is it on prescription?
@JasperLoy Wow! That is way expensive.
All pubs are free to enter here.
Only clubs charge entry fees, and they're usually not as high.

user19161
@Cerberus OK some are free to enter.

9:20 PM
@Cerberus Minerva/Dio, a sort of drogisterij.
@Cerberus The one I'm on now? Yes.

Hmm OK.
@FallenAngelEyes So did you have trouble falling asleep, or staying asleep, or something else?

Delayed sleep-phase syndrome (DSPS), also known as delayed sleep-phase disorder (DSPD) or delayed sleep-phase type (DSPT), is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder, a chronic disorder of the timing of sleep, peak period of alertness, the core body temperature rhythm, hormonal and other daily rhythms, compared to the general population and relative to societal requirements. People with DSPS generally fall asleep some hours after midnight and have difficulty waking up in the morning. Often, people with the disorder report that they cannot sleep until early morning, but fall asleep at about the ...
That's pretty much my issue.

Jez
what's that Limerick parody which has a load of syllables/words in the 5th line?
i swear it used to be on the Wikipedia linerick page but no longer is

user19161
@Jez You should ask Matt!

Jez
ah, found it. now how do you do multiple lines in one chat post?

9:24 PM
@FallenAngelEyes Hm OK. I probably have a mild form of that, combined with waking up after 4–5 hours.

Jez
other than
pasting

user19161
@Jez No idea.

Jez
There was a young man from Japan,
Whose limericks never would scan.
When asked why this was,
He answered "because
I always try to fit as many syllables into the last line as ever possibly I can."

@Cerberus I was finally able to get into therapy around Sept., which is partly why I haven't been in chats other than Gaming as much since then. I've been trying to get out more and stuff. I was able to get a psychiatrist consultation, and that was what was prescribed.

@FallenAngelEyes OK, well, good to know this helps!

@Cerberus Thanks, I'm glad too. :)
Gonna pop off to play some games with some friends now. I'll try to stop by to stick around more often now that I'm doing better. :)

OK, lator!

@Mahnax: Top users are top users because they spend their life on EL&U to answer questions. Doesn't prove anything. 3d idiot for instance, if you answer 765873268732 questions, you'll earn 3654723 reputations (minimum).

BAI!! <3

Bai!
Hi Gigi.

user19161
9:37 PM
@Gigili Well, nothing in life proves anything. There are idiots with PhDs. I know a few of them, not my friends though.

user19161
@FallenAngelEyes I have never gone for any therapy or meds, but I reconsider from time to time. I am giving myself one more year to recover, failing which I hope I don't wake up from my sleep.

user19161
@Cerberus Gigili keeps hopping in and out, we can't catch him.

11:34 PM
@Reg: Check WMT chat. Some guys from Cloud 9 want to join us temporarily to help us fight a war. They are without a faction now (apparently C9 died) and bored, and they want to play around at a lower lever for a while. Or so they say. Shall I let them in, if they apply?
