Word of the day: atlatl - a tool that uses leverage to achieve greater velocity in dart or javelin-throwing, and includes a bearing surface that allows the user to store energy during the throw.

sounds like a woomera
A woomera is an Australian Aboriginal wooden spear-throwing device. Similar to an atlatl, it serves as an extension of the human arm, enabling a spear to travel at a greater speed and force than possible with only the arm. == Name == The word "woomera" comes from the Dharug language of the Eora people of the Sydney basin. The name was adopted for the town of Woomera, South Australia, founded in 1947 as the home of the Anglo-Australian Long Range Weapons Establishment, also known as the "Woomera Rocket Range" and now called RAAF Woomera Range Complex. == Description == The woomera is between 61...
"similar to an atlatl" yeah great minds think alike

Related - the rocket launch facility in Australia as used by the British is called Woomera, technically the first stage of a rocket fits the name/descripton too.

That'd be a heck of a fairground ride :))
Doesn't the spinlaunch part only replace the firtst stage? You still need to launch a second stage to circularise the orbit.

We need to talk about these raccoon lake rescues.
They're all well and good, sure. But when a human goes missing, they send a whole search-and-rescue team. If you rescue a human from the water after hours swimming, they go straight to the hospital.
Society never treats raccoons with the same level of respect.

I've asked a question on AskDocs about my weird sensations in the left side of the body and my odd lesion in the midbrain. I'm not sure it will be answered though. But trying is better than not trying, and I have no idea where to go here in my city with the same question.
