Is there any site that works like Github but isn't for coders? E.g. Notes/Resources?
Would be interested in seeing if something like that did exist. And hopefully not prompt a question on the main site unless it was the expected "something needs a wrench to the settings, halp!"

If you think you can get it into question format go for it, we'll see what we can do to prevent it from keeling over

Can't think of it at all. Only that it would be a list question or otherwise closed as shopping for brains
Actually, GitHub can work for notes and resources. You just have to know how to use Git in order to push from your local. Or failing that, just edit from the GitHub interface itself. It's just text.
Case in point, Wired's Lord of the Files article. And have seen some repos on GitHub that are collections of recipes and knitting patterns.

Well we did set the FAQ for it to be allowed, just with a good level of research (which points to your meta answer)

It seems like "good level of research" many take is just opening up Web Apps and choosing some relevant-ish tags
If someone did post such a question as a non-programmer version of GitHub, it should be closed as off topic because the only argument would be that they don't like the UI which suggests they may need/want to have some programming chops

Time to launch a GitHub fork with "prettier" or more scholarly looking UI elements. Robes and mortarboards all over that joint

Later today I might flesh out some of the currently open posts under [webapp-rec] see how they have been holding up

Pretty sure have quite a few votes to close that expired on some of them

Q: Recovering a lost website with no backup?

Jeff AtwoodUnfortunately, our hosting provider experienced 100% data loss, so I've lost all content for two hosted blog websites: http://blog.stackoverflow.com http://www.codinghorror.com (Yes, yes, I absolutely should have done complete offsite backups. Unfortunately, all my backups were on the server ...

Still don't get how that's a web apps question.
Better on topic for Webmasters maybe
Actually, it does fit more on Webmasters topic given how much you can see those users deal with that kind of mess

Yeah, I've always just left that question alone
Maybe later today I'll ask Webmasters and see how far that goes

That must still get a lot of hits/views
