isnt there a folder in wp-content you can put plugin translation files in without having to put them in a plugin folder itself?

I remember someone here commented something similar to that but I cant findit

@TomJNowell Yes/no. You can use wp-content/languages but you need to tell your plugin to look there

@TomJNowell yup. Actually seems it'll look in wp-content/languages anyway, but only if there's isn't a translation file bundled with the plug-in... queryposts.com/function/load_plugin_textdomain

But checkout load_textdomain(), there's plenty of filters in there to take control of where it looks...

That should be check out... oh dear, I'm speaking git.

Is there a global or something for the meta boxes on a post edit screen?

Looking to override the order of meta boxes. Curious if it could be done via global variable or something.

Is there an easy way of discovering the global variables I might need to interact with on a given situation like this one? How did you figure that one?

Do you just dump $_GLOBALS on a screen and sift?

Me and core mutually hate each other... says I abuse his code too much...

you just learn where things are after reading that crap enough times

but yeah globals is one place to start... also just think about the flow of what you are trying to achieve and you will easily trace path usually

@Howdy_McGee hookr.io provides a nifty interface for navigating the changes to WordPress without actually rolling up your sleeves and digging through source revisions. It really should provide links to the WP source in VCS, but it may be what you're looking for.

@TomJNowell it was me I'd removed both getInstance and __construct and then, to use, add_action( 'after_setup_theme', array( new cftpParenti18nLoader, 'i18nAutoloader' ), 20 );

Also this don't work remove_filter( current_filter(), __FUNCTION__ );

should be remove_filter( current_filter(), array( $this, __FUNCTION__) );
