while a graphic tablet offer more flexibility, it's better to get a good grasp of traditional techniques before moving/applying them to the digital realm of things
@Memor-X you're thinking of a light box
a Cintiq is like that in a sense, but is very expensive unless you do professional 3d modeling or illustration

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ possibly but i can't even google that and get an image

but guys
I can just ask one thing
How can I re-draw it without many lines
(New layer)

@LucasHenrique what do you mean by "without many lines"

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ I posted my drawing up there
it's just the base, I want to make it smooth
But drawing with the tablet is just hard
With a normal pencil I can just draw it slowly and straight
@ton.yeung The pen is just... "slippery"

11:17 PM
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ oh those. since you replied to my post about the pen and arm mouse i thought you was talking about that

@ton.yeung so I'll play osu! with it xD

no, there isn't anything like that

@LucasHenrique do you do any sketching on paper?

!!lolis
@ton.yeung due to maintenance?

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ before the computer no

11:24 PM
@LucasHenrique why not?

@Memor-X ?
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ I bought it 3 days ago
I think I'll do it next times

@LucasHenrique checking if @HoiHoi-san was alseep, @ton.yeung seems to have woken her up now

!!lolis

Lolis are the best!

HAUEHUAEHUEHE BRBRBRBRBR
brazillian

@ton.yeung @ton.yeung you looking for graphicdesign.stackexchange.com

@LucasHenrique essentially what I'm trying to say is you're lacking in technique. You're not quite used to wielding the pen, so you proficiency with the item is a bit low.
I suggest trying to do some sketching on paper to get used to doing different strokes and weights. while not equal traditional techniques often times transfer over to the digital realm of things
@ton.yeung propose one
@ton.yeung okay

@ton.yeung Tatami Galaxy

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ there have been many proposals for various art sites, but none have made anywhere near beta
The trouble isn't with breadth so much as that Stack Exchange is rather bad at getting people interested in new sites who aren't already here.

11:31 PM
sketch design is technically part of graphic design, but most people don't like to bother with the foundations, they're just concerned with the end result

Most sites only survive because there's a decent number of SO users with some interest in that topic.

a weak foundation offers little stability, in the end

art is too far from programming

I've always hated that phrase

but not some kind of "visual" art

11:33 PM
@ton.yeung Sketching is a great tool for communicating with clients. it allows ppl to share an idea and talk it through at a purer, more conceptual level without getting bogged down in the detail or specifics inherent with a computer generated image

Art is more science than art, and science is more art than science.

life is full of irony
@ton.yeung it depends on the nature of the product as well

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ My avatar computer generated, but I don't know if it is art

In any case, I think very few SO users make a living doing visual arts on traditional media, and it's very hard (and often very bad) to build a site just for hobbyists.
So the point stands that you can't really create a fine arts site without bringing new people in, and Area 51 is generally terrible for that.
Yes, it's rare, but if the site is going to exist at all, those are the most important people to have there.

@hwlau what else would it's purpose be?
@ton.yeung but in art sometimes the concept can be the final product

11:44 PM
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ A image generated from simulation, not for art purpose.

@ton.yeung it doesn't nesscarily apply to all cases.

i choose it

@hwlau are you not using it to express yourself by choosing it as your avatar?

what I'm saying is to keep an open mind, for such things as in product design

@Frosteeze partially

11:45 PM
where functionality is just as important as aesthetics

then it's art

If there is an art related SE, what are people supposed to do there?

@ton.yeung all I'm saying is while sketching is often time an end ot a mean, it's important not to discount it simply because of the fact

I don't understand what we're talking about anymore.

11:48 PM
@LoganM art on SE i assume

@hwlau same discussions we have at A&M I'm guessing

@hwlau more or less what they do in GD.SE, sketching and beginner draw is on topic there

or that

@Memor-X Won't happen until SE gets something better than A51.
Or, if it does, it'll start out extremely low-level, to the point that you might as well be asking on Yahoo answers or something.

Rodea the Sky Soldier - Limited Edition is now available for pre-order on NISA's European store. just looking at the screenshots it kinda reminds me of Gravity Rush

@Memor-X this is a NA specific announcment
@ton.yeung too vague

Is the game any good?

@LoganM it looks ok but wont know until i actually get it

11:55 PM
How could you judge it before you get it?

@Memor-X I'm talking about the 3DS version
@LoganM preview trailers

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ both sites offer a 3DS and Wii U versions

insider reviews

Given that the game is already out, you could just read actual reviews

@Memor-X ok
