@Gao Shame Xiami was shut down. I can imagine you had quite the experience D: I have been thinking of using OCR for a small project of mine, but haven't even gotten to the research stage. I'd imagine you tried a couple of OCR tools, did you have a preference?

@Peilonrayz I only tried one, ABBYY reader (free trial), which I see recommended a lot as the best at the time, but I was underwhelmed by its performance, only about 60-70% accuracy. It's a one-time thing, and although it wasn't very accurate, it was accurate enough, so I just went with it

and yeah i was really disappointed with what happened to xiami (it was bought out by alibaba and effectively abandoned). the recognition technology may not be as advanced as shazam, but it had so much niche data that for identifying anime/asian songs it's far more superb

i think it was the 3rd or 4th largest music streaming service in china, so ~20 million or more customers worldwide?

the ui was 10 years ago already like spotify, unlike the average chinese software that is visually appalling and ads/malware-filled
