Q: Is Togusa a cyborg in GITS:Arise?

JohnEyeIn the other anime movies and series, it is often mentioned that Togusa is 'natural' and that he is not a cyborg. However, in the last episode of Arise, he obviously got ghost-hacked. Did I miss something or is Arise inconsistent with the rest of the anime? What would be the point of having him o...

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ a metamorphism

6:12 PM
into just a head?

@ʞɹɐzǝɹ he will never have to fill gas and change the blade :D

finally a run-around thing for VR
that spiked shoes one looked stupid
also does anyone know if a PS4 controller will work fine on Windows 7
I'd like to get a controller, but I hate the XBOX assymetry

hmm
i think you can get it to work, but it involves grossness

not 100% certain
you can definetly get ps3 ones working anyway

imgur.com/gallery/dkoqkUQ − apparently people do call a flute "recorder"
some more on the topic en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…

@user1306322 in general i think plastic ones are referred to as a recorder

Log Horizon S2

the thing that's bothering me most about that name is this:
> The name originates from the use of the word ricordare especiale, which means "remember" in Italian.
a special rememberer
but it doesn't remember shit :D
it's the dude who's playing it
I understand "cassette recorder" but why flute

Q: What is faster — full size with AA or reduced to screen size with no AA?

user1306322I wonder what is less expensive resource-wise: Drawing a usual modern 3D game scene with some geometry at 100% scale, with some AA; Drawing a downscaled scene (to fit the screen, but originally a few times bigger) without AA? I haven't had the opportunity to try that myself, since I almost ex...

this is because I didn't know shit about AA techniques and how they work
I like asking questions about things I don't know exactly because people come around and tell me everything there is to know on topic
I'm sorry if somebody gets mad because of this, but it's for the greater good

6:47 PM
@ton.yeung some users get sooooooo pissed about not so great questions, but most of them list at least one point I could improve in their anger

@ton.yeung Depends on whether I have cash.
I really like the second analog for MH.

Lol

@ton.yeung the question is in the title
and the details about it are in the post body
I don't like duplicating the question in both title and post

6:51 PM

Patema <3

7:07 PM
oh
from the basic description in the news post I concluded that it might actually be 4096p x~something AA
so mathematically speaking just normal 1080p anti-aliasing multiplied by 4
most games already allow for AA multiplier overriding by driver software
nvidia control panel is a good enough tool for that

Q: From which anime is this character?

user8435 That's all I got, but I'm really interested in it :I I tried searching through Google, but with no effect. Could someone help?

several big game engines allow setting virtual resolution that gets resized to your screen's resolution, resulting in full-screen AA
Dark Souls has that, Gears of War, and some other games I've played which looked bad and so I looked into their custom settings
it's not such a new thing
aside from this feature, the tech specs of the card look nice

> MFW I beat Dark Souls
^ from some post on the internet with that image
ok I can't find it
went shopping this weekend and there wasn't anything that looked nice to me, even for a high price
why does everything has to suck in the apparel section
I envy people dressed nicely >.>
a wild scientific news post appears arstechnica.com/science/2013/12/…
apparently phones are made of rare materials
I'm not at all convinced humanity can't advance without them

That motto might be a tad limiting :P

Q: What happens when a shinigami has two death notes and gives them to two people?

user6399So let's say a shinigami has two death notes. He gives one notebook to John Zeürtö and the other to Bob Dinkelbörg. So, if they both meet, can they both see this shinigami. Since they have different notebooks, they must touch the other notebook to see the shinigami. But now they both have the sam...

Q: Why was the ending to the Arrancar arc so brief?

Lews TherinI started watching Bleach probably a month ago and quickly found it to be quite interesting. But there are some things I just don't get. For example Aizen... I thought Aizen was awesome. He commands such awe, attention and fear and you can tell that from the Shinigami's protecting Karakura town...

9:21 PM
@ton.yeung It only really applies to a few things
Deciding whether to save someone's life or not.

@ton.yeung So the motto doesn't apply :P
@Sakamoto As always, amusement++.
Good question.
I don't know the answer. I had assumed so.
I thought a person generally only had one motto which was a linguistic expression of their philosophy. But perhaps that's wrong.
> a short sentence or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals guiding an individual, family, or institution.
But I guess that can be multiple varying beliefs.

@ton.yeung Considering the durability of the average Motorola phone, I'd have to say "no".

lol yeah
Google just wanted the patents.

God, the US patent system is so messed up, but I really don't know if there's any way to fix it (other than the obvious, hire more patent clerks).

9:37 PM
@Yuuki Complete reform.
Ground-up is the only way to go.

@Eric Say the word "reform" and the entire US political system will bury you.

REFORM!

Doesn't really matter what you want to reform...

Yeah politics are like the internet. It's too much of a beast to change direction now.
@ton.yeung With quotes? This seems like bad UX.

@Eric Politics in general is bad UX.

9:39 PM
@ton.yeung You've been hanging out with Logan too much.
@Yuuki Politics in general are just bad.
$17 trillion in debt is very good?
lol, well, in general, politics + money = bad.
If you're embezzling, politics + money = good.

Q: What specific event was the forking point between the two storylines?

MindwinIn Rebirth of Evangelion, the first movie is almost a fidedign retelling of the original anime series. But soon it begins to deviate more and more (and more /sad...), until I really wasn't sure of what I was watching anymore (but I digress). So, lets consider both storylines as happening on para...

@ton.yeung Yeah, debt creditors.

@Sakamoto Seitokai Yakuindomo didn't exist in the original Evangelion universe, thus resulting in an altogether more depressing world.

10:23 PM
Reading webcomics in class is such a bad idea.

Q: Name of an 80's fantasy/scifi anime

zenmensonsouI remember that it started out as a fantasy anime, but it was later revealed that the "magic" used was really technology. It turns out to be a sort of post-apocalyptic story where science was forgotten and became essentially magic.
