@user1306322 If someone tells me how to make thumbnails of all the images, I'll do it. From what I can tell this should be doable with e.g. ImageMagick (see imagemagick.org/Usage/thumbnails), but I'm too lazy to figure it out myself. Right now the only way I know of to do it is in GIMP, which has to be done individually for each image.

Should I bother going to Otakon? The guest list is okay, no one that I care about much though. The price isn't really an issue, and it's just down the street so not hard to get to. But I don't really know what I'd even do there for 3 days. The only thing I'd really go for is to buy merchandise, but it's pretty rare to find stuff at cons which I can't get online somewhere.

guys I'm still busy with job stuff, so I don't have a lot of time to code Taisho, but this weekend I might have some free time just for that, so stay tuned (as if you won't)

@user1306322 If you figure out how I can make thumbnails for a lot of images at once, tell me. What we need to do is rescale all the images so that the larger dimension is 300px and save it with the same format with just an _thumb added to the filename.

probably write a batch script for resizing all images through imagemagic or a similar lib (doesn't seem like it matters which)

Like I said, I looked at ImageMagick, which seems like it should be able to do it, but there's no way that I can tell to easily do exactly that sort of rescaling. But it seems like a fairly simple thing, so I'm probably just not looking in the right places.

then backup all images just in case (and it says this shit's dangerous, so "in case" is the usual scenario)

next open cmd

dragon-drop the "mogrify.exe" on it

press space once after its path appears

then type some more stuff so that it all looks like this, but with your image folder path instead

C:\Users\Admin>"C:\Program Files\ImageMagick-6.8.9-Q16\mogrify.exe" -path C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\source\thumbs -thumbnail 300x300 -format jpg -quality 80 C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\source\*

don't forget to actually create the "thumbs" folder or else it will not work

after it all runs successfully without destroying the original files, you need to add "_thumb" to all files' names

save this shit to a "batch.bat" and put it in the thumbnails folder

for %%a in (*.*) do ren "%%~a" "%%~na_thumb%%~xa"

double-click it and voila

now we just gotta nag someone to make that plugin that converts thumbnail links to full links

so as you can see, we already figured out how to convert the images to thumbnails and the actual url will contain "_thumb" before image extension once we run the scripts and swap the links in the bot

alright... the bot you are running is not what I am thinking. there are far more easy ways to do this.

I would also like to hear what you were thinking in case it was the bot you were thinking

because we just might switch to that bot if it is easier that way

cuz mem-killer to the power of eleven..

it is programmable. just make sure you have a dedicated browser running all the time for that bot. chrome if possible.

and JS just gets a quite small amount of actual processing mem.

you need to use 300 on the height and have the width be automatically resize

"thumbnail" option is not the same as "resize"
