I think I broke something

Could be ur scroll button

SciTE Lite

Dunno

ok it was Ctrl
it gets stuck regularly in the virtual machine
looks weird tho

soon enough no more autoit :P

/me showers @Priz in lolis

yeees :>

did u see the pic above?

5:09 PM
aha

its already reading the socket but didnt really like the library I found
should I make a interface for it or leave it as a console?

ton recommended me Signalr but I know nothing about it except it looks well supported
no-no, console is fine for me
I'll figure it out

oh yeah he suggested some other too
let me go check it
yeah signal wont fit it
but he suggested some other 2 I will check it out
the main thing now is that I might need a thread for each room depending on the library if I don't make my own socket library or reader.
@user1306322 LOL what was that

that was a faucet with thermometer
but I decided it wasn't interesting enough for others in this room :p

mmmm what was the room I was in before making my own?
was it on hoi hoi or shinonome

5:15 PM
you can test in both of them

not to test its was one of those rooms that ton sent the other suggestions for websocket

then it's probably yours
or maybe search all ton's posts in all rooms :p

nope
its just me and krazer on mine

then it was probably here
orrr… we can ask him when he gets back!
search starting from there
oh wait
wrong room >.<

it should be closer to that
message
because I remember he sent it and I asked what was that as we were talking about browser thing

@user1306322 @Prix might want to try alchemy or super

> @user1306322 @Prix might want to try alchemy or super
yeah
just noticed it
thx btw

I don't think those are the libs we're looking for, I think these are broswers without visual output or something
but on the other hand maybe that is exactly what is required to run the websockets properly
and also manage sessions in different chatrooms as tabs

alchemy looks cool I will try that

I have no idea what those really are, so I'm just guessing here

They are websocket implementation libraries
which would save me some time instead of making my own socket reader for
wss://chat.sockets.stackexchange.com/events/15922/session

5:25 PM
I have no idea how that works, but I like the sound of it

that is where the events from rooms come from
so instead of sending several requests to an HTTP url to keep getting the messages
you simple connect to that socket
and it will push all the messages from the time you asked it for
so basically, I get the room socket url, then I get the latest message on the room then I connect to the socket with the time to sync with the next message after the last one and the socket will feed me with all the messages from there on
lol I guess it ended up a bit overcomplicated

yeah I forgot to reenable Taisho back then

!!what

@MadaraUchiha That didn't make much sense. Use the !!/help command to learn more.

@user1306322 what your c# looks like right now do you have any interface or anything

I just know how it all works approximately
after all I did write it all myself

I don't mean your code I mean if you're have GUI or is just using console

I'm using a WinForms to check the main values, but I don't really press any buttons there
y u askin?

6:25 PM
@user1306322 so your GUI does nothing but show messages? just thinking on how ima make the GUI for this since there will plenty of possible things
I mean "what it will look like" as in design

there are some buttons, but it's not like I have to press them very often… baka!

what is the graph about?

form update times
if something is wrong it usually spikes up
I wanted to add the message rate graphs, error rate and such, but I haven't gotten to it yet
and it's not really very useful now
I fixed most of the issues that could cause long update times, and the graph is mostly normal now

6:41 PM
so basically your auto it saves the browser as a text and you read it from your c# to process that needs to be done

unless vm starts losing memory for some unknown reason I don't know what else could cause it to spike
yea

if you use Watin library you can cut Autoit
;P
but looks interesting your form

autoit also handles browser restart and relogin when necessary
not sure other stuff can do that

well Watin is basic a library that lets you integrate the firefox or chrome into the c# and execute commands directly to the browser
so you wouldn't have to save the log you could read the message directly

I tried something like that which allowed to get the DOM of a page but I couldn't properly write the selector

6:43 PM

and it still didn't have websockets
or something

it does
because it will use your browser

I mean I couldn't read all the messages

I see

like who joins the room, system messages and such
it can be deduced from text but I'd like the real messages instead

6:45 PM
well u did read it from the DOM with XPath in the case if u go with Watin

I like how browser just receives all messages in json and acts upon them as needed
I'd like to do the same

@Taisho what

you can with watin because you can eval JS
so you can grab the json out of it

@user1306322 I don't know where that is from, but you can try Google reverse image search, TinEye, SauceNAO or iqdb.

6:47 PM
damn there is this one room I joined and it won't let me leave, I press the leave and it keeps putting me back into it

ok something went wrong with firefox in vm
it keeps loading up to 560MB and the limit is 400 so it keeps restarting
I wonder what's causing the high memory usage
@Taisho 7,38 MB (7 744 815 bytes)

looks like I'll have to disable images in browser

@user1306322 robocv.com

@user1306322 blame it on logan lol

6:53 PM
@Krazer thanksies

7:31 PM
@user1306322 It's official art from To Love-Ru
Anyway if large images are a problem, I can potentially design a work-around.
Specifically, compress all the extra-large ones (bigger than, say, 5 MB). Then in drive I'll move the current ones to something like filename_large.jpg.

7:46 PM
no-no, I just disabled all images in vm's browser
they shouldn't have been allowed in the first place
memory issue was expected
but then I really don't see the need for images to be 9000px high/wide
7500px is usually enough for all purposes
but that's me pulling numbers out of my own personal preferences :p

@MadaraUchiha Kamishirasawa Keine (hakutaku form) from Touhou 8.
@MadaraUchiha If you're asking about chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/16788020#16788020, it's from this Pixiv page: pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=35228775. Original character.
@user1306322 That makes sense. I was more talking in general that if large images are a problem I can figure something out. As for the resolution, I always prefer to keep the original resolution for archival purposes. 9000px (or more, as some of them will probably be) is larger than I have use for, but I'd rather have that and have to downsize it later than have something too small and have to go search for the original again.

@user1306322 you know you can set the images to open on demand, this will make firefox only open images that are on screen

@user1306322 awesome, hahaha XD

Fantastic proposal:
1
Losers

Proposed Q&A site for who are failures in life.

Currently in definition.

@LoganM ............

8:01 PM
I'd rather have firefox detect too freaking large images and not load them in VM

that was the same dude who proposed the off topic and also a proposal academy lol
guess he doesn't have anything better to do afterall

@LoganM OMG YES

there is always a tiny chance that such a proposal will be accepted

I can't see this one being accepted without at least specifying a topic.

there isn't really anything to ask about

8:09 PM
But there have been quite a few other ones which were clearly doomed from the start but not closed.
The one that comes to mind recently was the "Foot Fetish" proposal.

it's gonna be very hard to define "losership" and qualification criterias
I bet a Sex proposal could succeed

There was a "Human Sexuality" proposal
Sexualitysexuality.stackexchange.com

Q&A site for educators and professionals to discuss human sexuality.

Closed after 13 days in beta.

Made it to beta but they didn't have enough activity

@user1306322 no way!
@user1306322 that did be amusing to read

It had a couple of special rules IIRC. Something about having to confirm you're above 18 (lol) and not being visible from Google searches.

@user1306322 like what? how to properly wear a condom?

8:15 PM

@LoganM no wonder it had low activity
@Prix that too

@LoganM lol that actually made it to beta not bad.

some people don't know the basics and get in srs trouble for doing things

@user1306322 What are the implying steps towards making sex

@user1306322 The lack of Google traffic isn't what caused low activity. They didn't even make it public anyway so that wasn't really relevant.

8:16 PM
oh right
closed beta
silly me

The reason seems to be something along the lines of "Most people aren't very comfortable talking about sex in public". Which IMO is silly but I guess it's a fact.

well, maybe all SE users are so well educated that they just couldn't think of a problematic situation to ask as an example
it's to be expected
after all it's one of the most intimate topics there is

@user1306322 How to deal with precose ejaculation?
LOL

depends on what the problem is with it

@LoganM well this is internet... not like they know you anyway

8:20 PM
@Prix Most of the people going through A51 are active users on other SE sites already, in which case they aren't really anonymous.

True, very few keep anonymity.

also you can't use closed beta from a new account
u gotta have some rep
200 or something

that guy was trying hard to get something approved it seems
that's his 4th? or 5th try

effectively it would be impossible to stay anonymous without some special alterations to user profile page

Nah you can commit with the 51 rep you get for free on a new account

8:22 PM
well… now 4 people know that :D

It will count towards the 200 total commitments required, but not the 100 with 200+ rep on any other site.
Anyway I could see it working eventually, but it may require some rethinking to get it to work in this format.

Q: Can the skills shown in kuroko no basuke be achieved in real life?

NoLifeKingso i recently started watching kuroko no basuke and have watched till episode 5 and the skills shown up till now are ridiculous so can those skills be achieved by people in real life and only physical abilities like speed,jump,agility etc not stuff like the phantom pass

Hahaha :P

I wish I had a cat. Cats are cute

9:33 PM
Yup, can confirm. Have cats :3

@LoganM Get a cat

my parents have a cat
it's too young and silly

I can't have a cat. My dog will eat it. Quite literally :X

._.

if they give it a toy mouse, it will never stop playing with it

9:33 PM
@user1306322 If we give mine a toy anything, it'll be either gone or in pieces within the day :P

I'm waiting until it grows up some more

@MadaraUchiha My apartment won't let me.
I could move, but I also don't have time to take care of a cat since I'm at work 14ish hours per day.

@LoganM ic

apartment cats are rarely any fun though

9:35 PM
@Taisho you're an exception, of course

9:46 PM
@LoganM they are not trustful animals!
@MadaraUchiha pretty much what my dog does aside from licking you non stop

I can't get back to rewatching monogatari second season

Once it reaches a numerical value of 5, he can use a special move.
He spins his cross-headed spear to blast away nearby enemies with centrifugal force.

Once it reaches ten, he can use his super special move.
Flaming spear dance.

At 15, he can activate his ultimate special move.
Liberation moon impact

When it exceeds 20, he can activate his final ultimate special move.
In which he infuses the spear with his life energy and fires it.

Anime tanoshiii

Not sure what to make of Jinsei

Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 is highly rated, but I'm not sure if I should even start watching it because of the art style
it's "classic"

It's probably more enjoyable if you've seen the original

I have not

Worth watching if you like scifi/space opera stuff. Otherwise not so much IMO

10:25 PM
@user1306322 if you're watching the remake one I highly recommend it plus the story is awesome
and the BD is pretty much out there

!!define space opera

@user1306322 space opera (initially derogatory) A subgenre of speculative fiction or science fiction that emphasizes space travel, romantic adventure, and larger-than-life characters often set against vast exotic settings.

The following is a list of space opera media. Space opera is a subgenre of science fiction that David G. Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer define as "colorful, dramatic, large-scale science fiction adventure, competently and sometimes beautifully written, usually focused on a sympathetic, heroic central character and plot action, and usually set in the relatively distant future, and in space or on other worlds, characteristically optimistic in tone. It often deals with war, piracy, military virtues, and very large-scale action, large stakes." The following are works that independent commentators have...
I've only seen and liked Cowboy Bebop out of that list

Star Wars was good.

I never thought so
it was ordinary to me

10:43 PM
jar jar binks or however you write it was pretty hilarious but that was about it for me.

Star Wars doesn't have enough cute girls for me to care about it.

2 epic 4 me
have you seen Watchmen?
(it was plain boring imo)
next on my screen: Shinryaku! Ika Musume
looks very promising

Haven't seen Watchmen. I might have heard of it but forgot.

some pictures can only be appreciated if the viewers knows the origin story of its characters

Did you know that 9 out of 10 constipated people don't give a shit?

I haven't read any of those comics, so I didn't get most of what went on
I just tried to watch "An Adventure in Space and Time" but it turned out it's a sort of Doctor Who origin story about how the first doctor came to be
I didn't watch Doctor Who, so I couldn't care much for what was going on on screen, but it wasn't anything spectacular in my opinion
that said, original works are cool
when in doubt, make tea

11:54 PM
wow I just noticed my user id is like 2010ish
