okiedokie @toscho rolling up sleeves and looking to get something going on the backend now

@toscho mlp isn't finding a pods-defined cpt for translation. i think it should or am i wrong? could this be a simple priority rearrangement issue.
116 $options = (array) get_site_option( 'inpsyde_multilingual_cpt' ); i guess the initialization of this is what i'm looking for

8:18 AM
crap thing is Types registered cpt shows up fine

8:45 AM
@lkraav The type must be registered network wide. Then go to Network Admin/Settings/MultilingualPress, and activate the post type.

yes, im aware
just registering on the main site should also work no?

not officially supported.

oic
well that drops all gui management
afaict no plugin currently supports multisite cpt mgmt because of inherent complexities with it
@toscho i need to create a post type with the same slug that's eventually handled by two different plugins. Products would be simple page-like thing on most sites, but one subsite needs WooCommerce

Just do it? What's the problem?

if i activate a trivial cpt-register-only plugin network wide, then activate woo on a subsite, im wondering if anything will blow up.
havent really done that before. i guess i will know in 5 min

hehe

it didnt blow up :)
i dont know which order the post type registration happens really
does my network activated plugin go first or wc
since WC does add_action( 'init', array( CLASS, 'register_post_types' ), 5 )

var_dump( __FILE__ ) it
btw, use backticks for inline code

mine comes in at default, so all should be good. but what happens overall, when two plugins want to register the same post type?
i cant get backticks on my keyboard easily
havent figured that out for a decade
:)
´test´
yeah, not a backtick right
test
oooooo did i find it
$classes[] = "moocow";
@kaiser tyvm sir, i found the keycombo. i can finally write markdown code blocks.

hehe

10:28 AM
@lkraav, like everything else post types should have a unique prefix, otherwise the result depends on the order of initialization

i'm totally fine with the simple cascade right now, everything works as it should. just wondering what exactly happens when the same post type is already registered, what does register_post_type do then
i should go look at src, but busy right now

I think it does nothing
In any case it will probably mean trouble down the road, whatever it actually does

10:41 AM
Look at the source: It saves into a global array. Therefore the later registered CTP/CT overrides any previously registered. Causing nuclear winter.

10:53 AM
ahh, sounds like exactly what i need
i will look at details on the x-atlantic flight

Would questions regarding understanding core be regarded as off-topic?

8:33 PM
@Howdy_McGee like?

@StephenHarris I'm writing up the question now, but it's like to even get to my question I'm asking the reader to follow this trail of Core Functions. It's regarding the automatic updating.
I feel like it's gonna be too much but Ima post it anyway I guess since I've written it up

Q: Trouble Firing auto_update_plugins filter

Howdy_McGeeI'm trying to fire the auto_update_plugins filter to see if I can figure out how to make auto-updates occur more often. I'm using the code below as reference. NOTE: The below functionality modifies core, while normally this is a bad idea on a production site, this is a test site. Down The Rabbi...
