@StephenHarris had you looked at it? it has separate action and filter that have same name... also it accepts echo argument, that does nothing if template file is used
@StephenHarris yeah? how would you do something on action without doing it twice? :) I know it can be done in different ways, but it would be another mess in your code to accommodate for mess in core
@Rarst Yeah I realise that, but in that context I can't imagine an action being called twice doing any harm. But you're right - it shouldn't have to be something that needs to be worked around.
@SolomonHenry once again - question you had linked to is closed by one of moderators, what kind of help you are looking for? can't answer closed question. actually can't do much of anything with it
@SolomonHenry Your problem is a) already answered (look at this Q for a solution) and b) what you're searching for is a "chained selection" plugin for jQuery (use google).
if you feel it's closed by error you can edit the question and it will reopen, but it is a duplicate since you have the answer in your first question already.
@SolomonHenry it will not reopen automatically, @Bainternet needs to take a look and reopen. Other mod could do it, but since he looked and closed original he knows context and is best qualified to decide
@SolomonHenry As I already said: Your answer has a solution. The rest is a) for StackOverflow and b) even easier to solve if you google for "jQuery chained selection".
ok as u all have seen the question, i have 2 taxonomies 1. State 2. Make, so State taxonomy has child which are cities, im able to display the parent and child in 2 different drop downs, so based on these selections i have to narrow my filter and display the 2nd taxonomy i.e, Make in the 3rd drop down
@SolomonHenry, I'm sorry but nothing has changed and it is still a duplicate of your first question which has the solution to the question asked, I know since i personally answered it and is your 3rd question in the same subject. So i see know reason to reopen it.
@kaiser its not quite simple as chained selection, he is asking for a way to filter the 3rd dropdown with only terms that have a post in the previous (2nd) dropdown selection when the 3rd and the second dropdowns are different taxonomies.
@Bainternet Don't understand where the problem is. You can do nearly every sort of filtering with chained selection plugins. It just depends on how you build it and what data you offer to filter. But anyway: It's imho off topic.
@kaiser like i said there is no problem, just that he is not asking how to get the selection fields to work, he is asking who to filter the terms of the 2nd taxonomy.
