From that baggage question.........
Is it ok to ask a question like what baise en ville or what passport handbag do you use?
or would it generate a lot of spam because everybody would have to say the company?
I totally swear by Victorinox
But if the question descends into spam links I wouldn't ask it
My 'secret' view is that if you have all matching Victorinox, hotel clerks, cab drivers, airport staff, immigration officers take note of it and give you some slack
otherwise it could be an interesting question to see what people are using

Sounds very much like an opinion-based question
or just asking for a list of brands?

I'd say it was opinion / shopping

It could be seen as an opinion survey and off-topic

4:29 PM
I will not ask it.
But if anybody in CHAT carries one, then I would like to know about it

4:51 PM
@RoflcoptrException Could you please merge into ? :)

@JoErNanO done!

Thanks man! I'd be lost without you. :D
@MarkMayo Being a kiwi and all, would you like to edit the description and wiki?
@RoflcoptrException What's up with the sudden avatar changes?

@JoErNanO didn't notice one recently, but it's a gravatar and it changes based on my reputation

Ah. I had no idea. That doesn't really help to identify people on SE sites.

you know my name
that stays the same all the time

5:46 PM
@GayotFow thanks for the translation.
I removed the comment to avoid offending the sensitive krauts we might secretly be harboring on TSE. :)

I added it to the answer.
It's the use of the saxon genative that makes translation awkward
Saxon genative avoids the use of WHO has to give the document.
It could be Angela Merkel for all I know

Truth is I get scared when I see all those capital letters.

In the previous phrase they specifically say YOUR guest
And then they avoid saying exactly WHO

Clear as mud.
@GayotFow @RoflcoptrException @RoryAlsop we need you in the April answerathon.

@JoErNanO I'm still not at home... no time for that :)

5:55 PM
@JoErNanO I never qualify for those Answerthons.

Excuses excuses excuses. :P

But I have a superlative idea for a contest that will enable lots of people to qualify

Plus @GayotFow there's half a million visa questions you can split with @MeNoTalk.

I will put it to MM when he is here next time

Now I'm curious.

5:57 PM
me too :)

6:11 PM
He is answering questions, so he will be in here directly

6:36 PM
@JoErNanO hmmm - I'll try, but I'm not expecting to be any better in April :-/

6:55 PM
@GayotFow still waiting ... :)
