hello, can anyone give advice on the following sentence: 自分で起きる時は異様に目覚めいい
I can't make heads or tails of the sentence structure. Is it something like "When [they] get up by [themselves], it's unusually [effective/good]"?

自分で起きるときは -- literally "When I get up by myself"
It's like, when I wake up/get up by myself, without anyone's help, or an alarm clock. You just naturally wake up, spontaneously or automatically, probably after having enough sleep
異様に目覚め(が)いい -- literally "I strangely/unusually have a pleasant awakening"
It's like, you feel refreshed, don't feel sleepy.
@user19772 Like, "wide awake"
... たぶん

@jkerian interesting way to practice!!!
I am having trouble fully understanding the 語尾 [よね]. As I understand, よ is informing something to the listener, ね is seeking agreement. So よね would be doing both, but the problem is that whenever I think of examples to use よね, I realize that using one of the two alone would keep the same meaning
Can someone help me with some examples where よね is Indispensable for the sentence?

京都いいよ - Kyoto is nice! (i'm telling you it's a nice place!)
京都いいね - Kyoto is nice, right? (I wanna know your opinion, i'm not so sure 'bout it)
京都いいよね - Kyoto is nice, don't you think so? (I am sure kyoto is nice, but I want to know what you think 'bout it)
is that a good way to se it?

@FelipeOliveira, isnt a particle missing?

7:54 PM
how do you mean, Jack?
Casual speech will often drop particles like は and が

Q: What are the guidelines of omitting particles?

MiguelI've recently discovered that certain particles could be omitted from a Japanese sentence (to help make it shorter), and still preserve the original meaning. Unfortunately, most resources about this topic that I've looked at are vague at best; and some even contradict each other! This question ...

@JACKB like @jkerian said, this is casual speech so particles were dropped

はい

It feels almost unfair when you're first learning the language though. Particles are a PITA to learn, and then you find out that people drop them all over the place. :)

yup
I'm learning alot on chatpad

Does anyone have a nice looking high resolution map of Japan to put as a desktop wallpaper? Surprisingly I can't really find anything satisfying.
I guess if all else fails there is Google Earth...
