Q: Why does some manga have dots above some of the words?

AnonPotential spoilers for readers of Jojo - but in the top-left-hand corner of this picture there are dots above the word こいつ Why do some manga have dots above some of the words? I've only noticed this in Jojo so far but perhaps it's in other manga too.

I think the nature of the question is much closer to this one:

japanese.stackexchange.com/questions/40331/… wow this got a lot of attention :D

Oh, you're probably right.
My first thought was that someone shared it on some site that has a lot of users.

I'm not sure how a question gets selected for Hot Network Questions

Must have at least one positively-voted answer, has more page views than surrounding questions.
Those seem to be the requirements. There might be more.

what are "surrounding questions" ?
within the same page?
within same tags?

I have no idea.
Probably not tags though. Only Python/C# questions seem to ever make that list.
If it were by tags, I'd expect a more varied selection of programming languages.
Also, always MSSQL if we're talking about databases.

Q: Is stack exchange available in Japanese?

JACKBI am unable to access in Japanese.

@JACKB Hi, welcome to Japanese Language Stackexchange
You may find that our site functions differently from other forums.
The Answer section is only used for answers. Unlike typical forums where posts just add on to the thread and are sorted chronologically.
Once you have 50 reputation you will be able to leave comments outside of your own posts.

The page views are a result of HNQ, not a cause.

Anonymous
It's based on the score and age of the question and answers, if I recall correctly.

You can look up the hotness formula if you want.

How can I add a learning resource to the page.

@JACKB Hi, welcome to Chat. Editing community wiki posts requires 100 rep. Until then you can post it here and discuss why you think it's useful and users with sufficient rep may (or may not) include it in the meta resource post.
Or you could suggest an edit and it will be sent to a review queue.
If the edit is approved in the review queue, it will be applied to the post.

I just have a Japanese language learning resource that I wanted to share
