8:24 PM
@chirlu meh. Mach mir doch meine Meinung nicht kaputt :)

8:34 PM
Tschulljung.

Außerdem würde das doch NIE jemand machen.
Das wäre schließlich unfair.

9:19 PM
Hi!

Hi,too Stephie

@Bergmann "Fehlende / mangelnde Sprachbegabung" klingt gut.

@Stephie i decided on "des Mangels an Intelligenz" temporary, but i'm not sure my prefer is individual or general,when we use Mangel an etw. i think it's general
but i think pick up your advice after all

@Bergmann But be careful about "Intelligenz" - the language aptitude is unrelated to intelligence. And not "Mangel an", just the adjective to qualify "Sprachbegabung".

Mangel an etw. is public or individual?
i would like to refer only one person with Mangel

9:33 PM
@Stephie: Unrelated stimmt nicht so ganz. :-)
Aber es ist nicht dasselbe, das nicht.

@chirlu naja... da habe ich schon ganz schräge Messwerte gesehen.
@Bergmann So that person has "mangelnde Sprachbegabung" - same as having "blaue Augen" or other characteristic attributes.

how to use Mangel an etw.?
kann ich sagen? "Ich habe Mangel an Intelligenz"
Mangel an etw. bedeutet allgemein?
z.B.: Es gibt in der Stadt Mangel an Brot.

@Bergmann einen Mangel. Aber sonst, ja.
Für Personen eher: es mangelt [Person] an.

9:48 PM
the intelligence deficiencies= das Mangel an Intelligenz?
richtig?

Es gibt einen Mangel an X -> X fehlt ganz allgemein, es gibt überall zu wenig X.
@Bergmann Number? Genus? (quick check, please)

the intelligence deficiencies=der Mangel an Intelligenz

Good!

I couldn't fine for overapplication proper translate,but i translate it to Übertreibung

And of course the German pet peeve, the compound noun: Intelligenzmängel. (lack of -> sing. Mangel vs. deficiencies -> pl. Mängel)
@Bergmann Context?

9:54 PM
I couldn't find for overapplication proper translate,but i translate it to Übertreibung

word order...

@Stephie the Comtext is Die Kontrastive Hypothese

I assume you mean "I couldn't find a proper translation for overapplication, for now I translated it to Übertreibung"

@Vogel612 that's right

Poor @Bergmann, we really put you through the wringer!

9:58 PM
my translation for overapplication is fine?

@Bergmann That's hard to say without a full sentence. Could be.

@Stephie it was the overapplication of second language rules

I'd use "Das übermäßge Anwenden" ...
but that's basically a hack-around

@Bergmann Gut feeling: "übertriebene Anwendung".
Or what @Vogel612 said.

I like that the chat is more lively...

10:03 PM
@Stephie what about übergeneralisierung?

I take that as a compliment?

make it a sidenote :D
@Bergmann similar rules apply...
this is a compound noun
break it into it's parts and translate them separately

And Übergeneralisierung is way off the mark.

Stephie is Stephie your proper name?
Stephie Graph

isn't the Tennis ace written "Graf" as in "Count"??

10:09 PM
yes she is Tennis Legend

Not me...

totally unrelated:
@Stephie did you know Takkat is also from this general area?

@Vogel612 I figured as much. It's a small world.

i'm adored, Steff Graff,Katjerina Witt, C.C. Catch, schiller mit peter heppner and more german

@Bergmann K. Witt turned fifty today, afaik.
@Vogel612 are you from here or just a "Neigschmeckter"?

10:14 PM
she was the sultan of Ice

I'm from here, my swabian is largely inexistant though..
so a little bit of both...

@Bergmann That's a phrase I never heard before - "Prinzessin" would be the term used here.

my grandparents came from ... somewhere, my mother is from Hessen and therefore I wasn't confronted with swabian.

@Stephie it is better
@Stephie i mean Prinzessin is better

@Vogel612 woha! That was rather heavy-handed editing... Putting the answer in...? Meh, who cares.
@Bergmann Probably. At least it doesn't paint her with a beard ;-)

10:20 PM
meh... I've been editing answers much heavier.. but yea, that answer was a big one, percentage based
that said otherwise I'd have downvoted...

@Vogel612 Such a do-gooder ^_^.

meh. it was less effort to edit than downvote and comment and wait for the comment war to come

@Stephie do you like History?

@Bergmann uh... hard to say. A bit?
Why?

i'm wondering about world war 1

10:25 PM
good old times..

@Bergmann I'm probably not qualified to give a good answer, but try anyway.

it's been a century now :DD

Historians claims that during Worl War 1 german troops are defeated,so Ottoman counted automatically defeated
in short they say that we defeated because german troops are defeated

Not my area of expertise, sorry.

@Stephie i see

10:35 PM
You could ask over at History SE?
But it's getting late - has been nice meeting you! Take care & bye!

G'Night

@Stephie yes you are right it is getting late Gute Nacht

@Bergmann I'm not sure how the ottoman empire was even involved in WW I....
I may have missed that part in my history lessons, though...

they involved in Worl War 1 because all nations had joined to the war
first they tried to fight together with england and france but they did not accept their offer
Ottomans tried to get rid of being loneless durin this war
England and France were aware of Ottomans weakness,their plan was to share Ottomans between themselves after the war
some Ottoman politicians were in believe that Germany will win the War
but Germany got a heavy defeat against Alliens
in Summary the story is here like this

11:47 PM
everybody has gone to bed?
