@Takkat Hi
...or Hallo!
I'd just like to know what you, as a native German speaker, think what the difference is between "drucken" and "abdrucken"?
Thank you for your time
Google Translate says abdrucken is to "reprint" whereas in Collins Dictionary, to reprint is "wieder abdrucken"

1 hour later…
5:58 PM
@clinch Wow! How did you do the binary stuff on the page digitalno.de ?? I'm amazed!
...or did you just use a software thingy

@TimTimmy hah, i share the site with a friend. I'm sure they just used an ascii art tool or some kind of generator. I'll ask them if you want ^^

@clinch Thank you ;) The effect looks rather cool
I'd love to find out more from you

from me? :O
anyway, i asked him (he doesn't seem to be around atm), i'll message you when he replies

Thanks

es sieht aus, wie willkürlich binär @TimTimmy

6:13 PM
Ich weiß
@MillieSmith By any chance, do you know the difference between drucken and abdrucken?
You can find my issues above ^^^

@clinch by "clear", what do you refer to?
@MillieSmith That would be very kind of you.

i was asking if its meaning was clear

6:22 PM
ah, I see
so abdrucken = to publish
whereas drucken = print
@clinch But is abdrucken to publish in a printed format, or just publish?
Thank you for your time and effort

i would assume in printed format

She also says that you can say "ich drucke etwas aus" or "ich drucke etwas ab", but people say the first one more
both mean to print something
print something off*

@TimTimmy about the ascii art, he doesn't know anymore which one he used, hah

@clinch lol Doesn't matter, I'll try to find one ;)

6:32 PM
this one does colour: picascii.com
not all of them do, so close enough to what he used
@MillieSmith was meinst du mit "willkürlich binär"?

@clinch :( microsoft is... NOT RESPONDING!!! after trying to copy and paste the ascii into word
:S Aha! I must complain to Microsoft!
Well... To say the truth, I chose the most complicated pic

hah
html code is probably more useful

Yay, it worked

ich meine "arbitrary binary", clinch
@clinch

Tada!

6:38 PM
das sieht cool aus

hah, nice

@clinch Thanks for your help ;)
This is the code from one of the lines:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGG‌GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO00000000000000O000O000OO00000000‌000000000000000000OOOOGGGGGGGOOGGGGCCCCCGCCGGGGOOOOO00OOOOOOO0OOOOOOOOOO00000O000‌00OO00000000000OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yes! Keine binär :(

lol

6:39 PM
ok i can't say this in german, so here goes in english
it looks like they used a random number generator between 0 and 1 to generate the next binary character
if it was < 0.5, they filled a 0
if it was >= 0.5, they filled a 1
and they did that across the entire matrix of the image
and then just applied the necessary colors
it does not look like there is a hidden meaning in the binary
2

What about the Gs and Cs?

ah, alright

what Gs and Cs?

lol imagine if there was a hidden meaning...

steganography :)

6:41 PM
there is, it seems Millie hasn't cracked it yet ;D

@MillieSmith
O **GGGGGGG** OO **GGGGCCCCCGCCGGGG** OO
There are some "G"s and "C"s in the line above

@TimTimmy they were talking about the one that only had 0s and 1s. Not the one you just pasted
tho, i gotta admit, i can't see the G or Cs hah

@clinch oh I see...

yeah i can't see them either lol

Esel ich!

6:42 PM
even in the dolphin picture

yea

6:54 PM
Danke to everyone!
Tchüss!
