NaftaliI am in chat and I click on "site rooms": That directs me to: http://chat.stackexchange.com/?tab=site&host=judaism.stackexchange.com BUT if I try to change the URL to: http://chat.stackexchange.com/?tab=site&host=mi.yodeya.com It looks like this: It has the old beta design and NO c...

@Dave Any old time is fine. (And I know you said you don't want to say it yourself, which is why I am, but if wish to you change your mind, that's fine, too.)

@msh210 I expect you to spend at least an hour or two practicing your delivery. :)

Q: Prosthetic limbs in halacha

tinok shnishbahWhat is the status of prosthetic limbs in halacha? For example would a prothetic hand require netilas yadayim? Is there a difference depending on what material it is made out of?

^^Thoughts, anyone? (See comments please.)

7:06 PM
^^ @Dave @ه ه

@msh210 its about as broad as this open question

@هه What do you think of both, then?

May 21 at 21:52, by Double AA
http://judaism.stackexchange.com/q/16536/759 is too broad. Every possible case needs to be dealt with individually, as evidenced already in the comments.

@msh210 Can't make up my mind about this one.

8:07 PM
@msh210 I agree that the prosthetics q is too broad. The glove q is fine, imo.
Although, the glove q is borderline too broad.

@HodofHod They seem of similar breadth to me. Would the prosthetic one be more focused if it just asked if a prosthesis counts as part of one's body? That sounds more general but might actually be better than bringing up netilat yadayim in the question.

@MonicaCellio The wording is fine IMO: I just think it's too broad. Rewording it to omit the example wouldn't help IMO.

8:34 PM
@msh210 What do you think about the glove question? Also too broad?

@MonicaCellio Yes. Less so, though, somehow. But yes.
@MonicaCellio But it's been open a week with no closure votes (and it has an answer) so I'm loath to unilaterally close it now.

@msh210 Ok. I'm fine either way, BTW; I just think they're similar.
@msh210 Oh, good point.
