@Shokhet or because SE tries to minimize the amount of "force" that mods need to put into the system. Closing because of a gold badge earned the hard way (through good answers) is less forceful that doing it as a mod who, in theory, might have less content knowledge. It is like when a mod suggests a duplicate to the community to see if it wants to close a question rather than close it him/herself. I rather like this I have to say

@Shokhet I seem to recall, but am too lazy to search for, a request for this on MSE. I think originally it only showed the diamond, and the request was to show the gold badge if appropriate so that it would be more clear that the mod closing it actually does have the depth in that tag. Plus what @mbloch said.

@mbloch thanks. Oh, I see that "dupehammer" is a tag on MSE. I hadn't realized that.

What should one answer when someone tell him/her mazal tov?

2:13 PM
@mbloch , @MonicaCellio Interesting.
@TheOne I usually say "Thanks!", but I don't know if there is a better response.

@TheOne I say "mazal tov" if the person is a party to whatever caused him to wish me mazal tov; otherwise, I say "baruch tihye" (inflected appropriately) if the person will understand that and "thanks" otherwise.

Q: Would jews be permitted to help a caliphate overthrow a government

KedemWould Jews be permitted to help a caliphate overthrow the American government in order to establish the caliphate, is this allowed according to Halacha because historical speaking the Jews of Babylonia helped the second Caliph Omar overthrow the Sassanid dynasty's rule over Babylonia

Will anyone who answers in the affirmative get a recruitment email from ISIS?

This question would be much more answerable with some specifics. Specifically (excuse me, my historical knowledge is lacking), how did the Jews of Babylonia aid the revolution and (more importantly) how are you proposing they aid a future one? Asking whether Jews are allowed to vote for caliphs for Congress is very different from asking whether Jews are allowed to support caliphs' assassinating the Cabinet. I think that this question is unclear (or too broad) as asked, and I suggest you edit it to something more answerable. — msh210 ♦ 16 mins ago

Q: Review history is incomplete

DanielI just saw this today for the first time. After reviewing a post in the "Close Votes" queue, I wanted to see how others had voted on it. When I viewed the queue history, I saw that multiple people had reviewed the same post; however, when I clicked my vote to see the other votes, I only saw my ow...
