@msh210 I suppose so. It was more meta-halacha than halacha. I.e. it wasn't about any specific halacha

@YEZ I agree with @msh210. There are Halachot about how to ask a Halachik question.

@DoubleAA As I said, I suppose so. I guess I was viewing a halacha about halacha as being halacha theory.
Is there a penalty for getting a certain amount of offensively flagged comments?

@YEZ I believe there is not. (This is in contradistinction to offensive post flags.)

@DoubleAA So is there anything to do about repeat offenders? Other than racking up my helpful flag count?

@YEZ if you want to report a pattern of behavior from a user, you can use a custom flag on one of the user's posts and explain what's going on. (There's no way to directly flag a user, so that's the closest you can get.) Please choose a post rather than a comment for this; post flags are easier to manage.

@MonicaCellio even if his posts arent offensive? Meaning, I should flag a post even though it's his comments that are offensive?

@YEZ Yes. If you want to alert the mods about something short just drop a custom-text flag just about anywhere. We'll understand why you didn't flag, for example, a user profile (you can't). Flags to posts give us more flexibility and information in handling them, so they are preferred.
If you have something longer to discuss you can ask for a private chat-room which only you and mods (and SE employees) can access.

Q: Is there a way to contact a specific user outside of threads?

YEZI'm sorry if this is answered somewhere on the help page, but I couldn't find it if it is. Is there a way to leave a message for a specific user (or moderator) outside of any specific thread? Also, (this is related, I promise) I know that moderators see deleted comments and posts. Do they see ...

@YEZ right (as DoubleAA said). Use the "other" flag reason and tell us what you need to tell us. I usually start such flags with "flagging the user" to make it clear to readers who don't have the context in my head.

@Daniel Although that question asks specifically according to the Shulchan Aruch - perhaps it should be closed as a dupe of this one. — YEZ 2 mins ago
