@pi - You may well feel like the criteron for a valid question is 'does this benefit the community'. I agree, however the community includes SE, future readers as well as the OP, ie you in this case. Stack Exchange has already established categorically that list questions do not benefit the community, as per the 'on topic' list for this site:

music.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic

You may not agree with that, but the pros and cons have been hammered out over quite a long period of time, and the consensus is that they are not on topic.

So rather than argue the case in the comments on the question, you could try and raise it as a question in meta.music, but I would suggest first reading the following question, and related ones:
