@LaTeXereXeTaL Wish you nice clear nights!

@AlanMunn So Apple nicked it? I always thought it was a strange symbol, though it would be preferable to the Windows logo I'm stuck with.
@LaTeXereXeTaL I can never get that to work. However, the transduration thingy seems more reliable.

8:27 AM
@JosephWright I updated the pdfmanagement, please warn me when you do the change in l3kernel, then I can run the tests with it and check if I missed a use somewhere.

9:20 AM
@UlrikeFischer Sure will do

9:33 AM
\afterpage{I'll be back}

9:53 AM
@UlrikeFischer Changes committed

10:11 AM
@JosephWright I missed one. Not in the pdfmanagement but in tagpdf ;-(

@UlrikeFischer Ah
@UlrikeFischer Should I revert?

@JosephWright as long as you don't sent directly to ctan it is ok. I will have to do another tagpdf update first.

@samcarter Italians are very good at big gestures. :)

@mickep yes, but also interesting that types of gestures are different

@samcarter Yes, we like to bake small cookies.

12:31 PM
Oh, cookies (^^^ @PauloCereda)

@Skillmon We've decided to merge the idea of using \obeyedline for v-type ltcmd args, but against marking start/end of each line - we imagine that people wanting that will likely be doing 'further processing' anyway, so can use e.g. \seq_set_split:Nnn

1:40 PM
@samcarter My mother once managed to talk with two Japanese on the train Milan-Rome. She only knows Italian. I think they more or less understood what she was saying, because their replies were compatible.

@CarLaTeX Universal language!

@samcarter :D

2:04 PM
@samcarter Hello, samcarter! Thanks for helping me. I finally had the brainwave to search for the keyword "polls" in TeX - LaTeX Meta and found it: It was "TeX Community Polls".

@UlrichDiez The pool clearly can't be reliable, look how many upvotes this comment got :P

@samcarter I prefer Emacs. ;-) And EDLIN is missing from the list. ;-)

4:08 PM
@DavidCarlisle did you break LaTeX again? :)
3

4:52 PM
@PauloCereda A long time ago planted Easter egg.

5:10 PM
@JosephWright are you already building for dev or can I add a a-4f to documentmetadata to make some people happy?

@UlrikeFischer Add to dev: I'm waiting on Frank's branch and will do the work tomorrow

5:28 PM
@JosephWright good. coming soon.

5:57 PM
@PauloCereda no tex broke my packages but they unbroke them again
@UlrikeFischer who'd want such an option?

yo'
@CarLaTeX Varied :-)

@yo' :D

yo'
I mean, I belong to the sinful who very rarely, but has flatbread with both ham and pineapple. (Note that I'm happy not to call it "pizza" if that makes other people happy.)

@DavidCarlisle I just spent ten minutes wondering why the testfile claims that A4-F doesn't exist after I implement A-4F ;-(. Why are computers so picky? Who cares about where hyphens are=

yo'
6:13 PM
@UlrikeFischer (:

6:28 PM
@UlrikeFischer you could be like afterpage, test free so immune to such problems

@DavidCarlisle it would help. github doesn't like my test ;-(

@JosephWright Could you please move this: tex.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/10162/… to the main site?

6:53 PM
@DavidCarlisle do you have any idea why github fails on the test? Does it work for you?

7:37 PM
@cfr To clarify, the movie loads in QuickTime so it's not technically "embedded" into the slide.

7:59 PM
I have a question out of curiosity: I know how to display the catcode of the backslash character.

```
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
\the\catcode`\\
\end{document}
```

Do any of you know any other way to display the catcode of the backslash character?

8:37 PM
@DavidCarlisle ooh
@mickep ooh

@PauloCereda Indeed.

@rdrg109 what's wrong with that way? you could use \the\catcode47 if you prefer
@UlrikeFischer I'll look. Bible still validating looks like pdfa4 validation no quicker than ua-2
@UlrikeFischer running l3build check in latex-lab...

8:54 PM
@JosephWright thanks for the heads up, can you tell me on which version/kernel date it'll hit the public so I can adjust my packages?

Transcript written on standard-A-4F.log.

  All checks passed
@UlrikeFischer ^^

@DavidCarlisle ;-(. And why does github not like it?

@UlrikeFischer not yet
the gh log says the pdf is not there @UlrikeFischer but it passes fro me with cygwin and wsl2 linux
@UlrikeFischer pdf/a-4 validation still running on the bible, hope it'll take less than 2000 years
it just says the file is not there 2024-03-26T18:44:20.3358993Z standard-A-4F (6/7)

@DavidCarlisle yes. I wonder if I should try in lowercase ...

@UlrikeFischer I wondered if it was that but you do seem to be consistent with the case
@UlrikeFischer it stops at
local function rewrite(source,result,processor,...)
local file = assert(open(source,"rb"))
@UlrikeFischer bible passed!
@UlrikeFischer log file in skype
@UlrikeFischer archiving the log failed due to a / is that becuuse you have a / in the branch name?

9:22 PM
@DavidCarlisle hm, perhaps.

cfr
@LaTeXereXeTaL Ah, yes. I think my problem is that I write my slides on Linux but present them using the room's machine which is, of course, Windows.

@UlrikeFischer rename the branch to blub and see if it saves the full log?

@DavidCarlisle hm, where does one rename it at best? on the remote?

@UlrikeFischer you can do git branch -m old-name new-name although not entirely sure what happens when you push that:-)

9:45 PM
@cfr @samcarter Apparently I must use Adobe Reader to see animations and rapid slide transitions, etc.

@Skillmon 2024-06-01 assuming it looks okay in dev testing

@LaTeXereXeTaL There are some other viewers which also work, but adobe reader is normally a safe bet.

10:23 PM
@LaTeXereXeTaL You are using macOS, aren't you? You could give Présentation.app a try. It is small French project, but I find it has a nice balance of features without too much clutter

@JosephWright you happen to also know the release date of the first dev release containing it?
@JosephWright and before I forget: Thank you :)

10:41 PM
@DavidCarlisle hurra, it passed now ...

@UlrikeFischer what did you change?
@UlrikeFischer apart from the branch name
oh lowercase names

@DavidCarlisle that was a try but didn't help. The problem was that the colorprofile package was missing and so the profile could not be included.

@UlrikeFischer oh in the texlive profile

@DavidCarlisle so I think it can be merged?

@UlrikeFischer yes
