@DavidCarlisle Oh, I see. I delete them without using recycle bin. (shift-delete). I disabled recycled bin. I read on the net that windows 7 is very slow deleting and moving large folder with small files. But on linux, it is much faster. I actually do all my real work on Linux now (using the VBox), but it is still slow compared to moving to a real PC with linux.

@PauloCereda Very nice day. David is a hologram.

Q: A risk when using tex.sx.com

wipetToday, this is exactly one year, when I firstly met this tex.sx.com. I found out that this is very interesting phenomenon from (web)-technical, TeXnical, social and psychological points of view. There are many very nice questions and answers here. Moreover, a group of very hyperactive users is he...

8:10 AM
@FaheemMitha no idea. I don't know what those configurations are actually for ;-)

@daleif Ok. Thanks for the feedback.

8:44 AM
@egreg I knew it! :)

9:10 AM
@PauloCereda How are you today?

@egreg Thankfully, a lot better, thank you! :) I was worried because the muscles in the face were hurting pretty bad (never experienced this pain before). I am recovering pretty fast. :)
@egreg: How is the conference going? :) Lot's of cricket talk, I suppose? :) I heard that the real cricket expert is @Nicola, not @David. :)

9:42 AM
Hi @Paul! Are you taking lots of photos? :)

Will the TUG conference's pdfs be available in the future? I can just see the abstracts from the TUG page, but not the whole conference presentation.

@Manuel IIRC all TUG conferences are available in a special TUGboat edition. :)

11:40 AM
@ChristianHupfer About the answer on the LEd-question: If the lack of a TeX distribution was the problem, then that is the answer .. And honestly, I don't think the second part of that comment (critique/clarification) in any way fits the content of the answer. Do you?

@TorbjørnT. Those are those stupid autocomments that get there when reviewing. It is really annoying i think and i tend to write a comment of my own.

@Johannes_B Which is the best of doing it. If the suggested comments doesn't fit the problem, don't use them.

@TorbjørnT. Do they ever fit except for thank you stuff?

@Manuel As well as the next TUGBoat for papers (still have to write mine), Kaveh is videoing everything

@JosephWright Any guess when the videos are coming online?

11:55 AM
@Johannes_B I can't even remember what the options are ...

@Johannes_B Usual takes a couple of weeks at least for the post-processing

@JosephWright Can you please check tex.stackexchange.com/users/82330/r-sivakumar?

@JosephWright So… when will it be available for non TUG users? And the videos… who is Kaveh? What's the link to the website?

@JosephWright Here is the biber issue I mentioned where I would need another windows tester github.com/plk/biber/issues/78 (or tex.stackexchange.com/questions/255620/…).

12:22 PM
@Manuel TUGboat becomes available for all one year after being published I believe. Kaveh Bazargan of River Valley Technologies, president of TUG (tug.org/election/2015/candidates.html). Videos will likely be made available at river-valley.zeeba.tv/category/conferences/text/tex, you can see there are videos from several previous TUG meetings there.

@TorbjørnT. Agreed, the comment does not fit completely. But the answer itself wasn't very good, in my point of view, regardless whether it's true or not

Would you guys like to see my ducks?

3:40 PM
@PauloCereda Unless that’s a metaphor for something else, yes I’d like to see your ducks :-)

3:55 PM
@PauloCereda unfortunately I did not even bring my camera at all. :-( Not much time for photo excursions as I'm spending my free time here doing a bit of work.

@PaulGessler Oh. :)
@ArthurReutenauer vvv

4:18 PM
Closing and deleting non-answers right away seems off-putting to new users, i can understand this. Not acting right away gives the high chance that some questions are cluttered with non-answers. Would some kind of timer be a good idea? i.e. deciding to close/delete now, but defer the action to two days later. What do you think?

5:53 PM
@ChristianHupfer: did you like my ducks? :)

@PauloCereda I did and I do ;-)

@ChristianHupfer <3
Someday I will get a Black Forester duck. :)

@PauloCereda Typical US - American ducks ...

@ChristianHupfer Village People Ducks. :)

@PauloCereda I offered you to send you a box to Brazil...
@PauloCereda Oh my God, you I see it ... And where is the mason duck and the duck with the leather jacket? :-P

5:56 PM
@ChristianHupfer International shipping is expensive, I guess. :)
@ChristianHupfer LOLOLOL

@PauloCereda I checked recently. A package to Brazil, max. 2kg costs about 13 Euro

@ChristianHupfer 13 euros is quite expensive, I guess. It was for me: Google result: 1 Brazil real = 0.288279592 Euros

@PauloCereda: What's an average income in Brazil real currency then?
@PauloCereda It would be a gift, and not a loan --- nudge, nudge :-P

@ChristianHupfer ~ 788

@PauloCereda Oh, 250 euro, that's not much of course. I've to check the German average income, but such averages are quite biased of course

6:01 PM
@ChristianHupfer :)

@PauloCereda: 788 reals per month or per year?

@ChristianHupfer Month. :) That's the minimal wage for Brazil.

@PauloCereda: For God's sake... well, in Germany it's about 2000 euro per month, tax and social insurance already cut off

@ChristianHupfer Holy cow!

@PauloCereda: Well, as I said: Very biased. The minimum income is about 400 euro, but life is quite expensive here: Taxes, rents for flats, living... very hard to get on with just 400 euro per month

6:43 PM
@ChristianHupfer Understood. :)

@PauloCereda: Something like this?

@ChristianHupfer no male duck with a beer? :)
But it's a very cute duck. :)

7:09 PM
@PauloCereda I'll do a massive investigation in the next days, ok? School's closed for almost 7 weeks from next week, so I've plenty of time :-P C. Hupfer, R.D.I (Rubber Duck Investigator!)

@ChristianHupfer <3

Just ordered Trees, Maps, and Theorems. I haven't been this excited about the arrival of a book in a long time :)
Does anyone else here have that book? I'm kindof wondering how long (i.e. in-depth) it is.

@ChristianHupfer Pretty much!!

@egreg: ^^
The background is a pattern of araras. :)

@PaulGessler :)

@PauloCereda You should add a line: No ducks or araras were hurt during producing this presentation* ;-)

@ChristianHupfer oooh I like this.
<3

@PaulGessler Oooh, is that hardcover?

If one is curious about my pattern. :)

8:30 PM
@PauloCereda pretty

@SeanAllred <3
@ChristianHupfer We need a duck vader. :)

@SeanAllred yes, indeed. On my shelf at home but I've only had time to skim it. Not done a full read yet.

@ChristianHupfer Oh my!

8:36 PM
@PauloCereda Do you want to have Duck Vader and Stormtrooper Duck instead of Black Forest Beer Drinking Duck then? ;-)

@ChristianHupfer oh no, Germany always. <3

Another package of rubber ducks
@PauloCereda: Super hero ducks

@ChristianHupfer oooooh
nanananananananana Batduck!

@PauloCereda: I've the impression that I've to call my next package duck.sty ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Do it!

8:44 PM
@PauloCereda Well, now I just need an idea what the package should do? Printing No ducks were hurt during typing this publication as a watermark on every page?

@ChristianHupfer I like the plan. :)

9:35 PM
@PaulGessler I'm going to tear it apart >:) (Delicately, of course.)

For the expl3 people: would it be useful to have an expandable \tl_replace_all:nn? I'm not sure it's useful, but may be it's. One would just need some \tl_define_replacement:nnn { alias } { <search> } { <replace> } and then use \tl_replace_all:nn { <token list> } { alias }. Is that possible to implement?
And also, is there a plan for \skip_horizontal_nonscript:n or something like that?

10:37 PM
@PauloCereda After a long discussion with Bruno and Will (and some beers with Frank), I have to go to bed.

@egreg Cool! :) Have a good night, my friend. :)

10:59 PM
Hi
I have a simple question please, How to write \gamma_x as a text in latex?
because when you write like this, latex gives you an error message

11:39 PM
@barznjy Do you mean upright gamma and x? There are packages like upgreek and others. The x can be put as superscript using \textsuperscript. This and \textsuperscript are available with an up-to-date TeX-distribution.
