Q: Public database of bibtex entires of LaTeX packages

DanielWhen I want to cite a research paper, I typically look up the respective bibtex entry in some online catalogue (such as DBLP or the ACM and IEEE digital libraries for computer science). The quality of the entries is not always great, but at least a good start. Now I am in the situation that I am...

I read here that there exists an overparen command:
http://milde.users.sourceforge.net/LUCR/Math/unimathcmds.pdf
but i can't get it too work with latex, does anybody more about this ?

@Kasper did you use the package wrisym ?

never heard of it

well, the pdf you linked states it as a requirement

oh ok, I'll look at that

10:23 AM
Hey, what to do, if I need an answer to a question I edited and no one else is looking at the question anymore?

@RafaelWörner ou can always set a bounty ;-)

I have only 120 rep. Too bad give at least 50 away...
If no one answers my edited question, I will start a new question.

@RafaelWörner your initial question was more or less answered in a comment so typically people won't go back and see an edit

@egreg »Many things have changed in Greek support since then.« I wanted to push him to use a unicode aware engine.

@Johannes_B Which doesn't mean dropping kerkis.sty, which basically defines the font to use, not the input side.

10:36 AM
@egreg Ok, that's right.

@DavidCarlisle Yes, I know

Hello everyone :)

@Alji Hi

@Alji Hello

Please, how to get rid of the surrounding red rectangle of parties of Table of Content ?

10:40 AM
@Alji hyperref setup.

@Alji \hypersetup{hidelinks}

@JosephWright This. :)

where do I put it ?
before \begin{document}
thank you for your "speed" solution :)

@Alji Just after \usepackage{hyperref}

see you :)
Merci @JosephWright @Johannes_B @PauloCereda

11:00 AM
After 10+ years, I'm gonna fly again. Oh boy. :)

@PauloCereda Have a nice trip! Are you leaving tonight?

@egreg Thanks! :) Actually, I'll leave Saturday night, so I have a day and a half left. :)

Good Maen;-)
@PauloCereda: Hello .. Happy flying ;-)

11:23 AM
@ChristianHupfer Hi, thanks! :)

@Johannes_B: Congrats: You don't need Approvers any longer :-P
@PauloCereda: When will you return?
@PauloCereda: By the way, my last flight was in 2004 ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Monday, I guess. :)

I hope, you have access to TeX.SX then ;-)

@ChristianHupfer 3 upvotes for this easy peasy question?

@Johannes_B: Which one?

11:38 AM
Off and cleaning

@Johannes_B: Shall I downvote it? ;-)
@Johannes_B: By the way, the downvoting guy has left the TeX.SX building ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Smartphone. :) I won't be able to vote, but I can visit you. :)

@PauloCereda: I am already scared .. I can vote via SX app on my smartphone
@Kinkilla: hello unknown 'guest'
I have expelled the guest :-(

12:04 PM
@DavidCarlisle: Researchers with updated publications: David Carlisle

12:48 PM
@PauloCereda what's it "found" this time, scribblings on back of an old envelope?

@DavidCarlisle Dunno, let me check. :)
@DavidCarlisle: Modular representations of GL(n,p), splitting Σ(CP ∞ ×⋯×CP ∞ ) and the β-family as framed ...

@PauloCereda I've not updated that recently:-)

@DavidCarlisle :P

I wanted to answer at to this tex.stackexchange.com/questions/200813/… shame the system doesn't like short answers.

@DavidCarlisle How about Levenshtein distance of 2? It sounds elegant. :)

1:01 PM
@PauloCereda You must be confusing me with that other bloke: I'm the one who likes short answers, not confusing the reader with excessive discursions

@DavidCarlisle LOL

@DavidCarlisle Thank you for the reminder. My answer is just a bit longer. :P

1:24 PM
@egreg now what made you think I was reminding you :-)

Feeling like @PauloCereda... out of votes for today already. :-)

@PaulGessler Good boy. :)

1:40 PM
@DavidCarlisle I was almost forgetting it. And I just got a green tick for it. :P
@DavidCarlisle You should have seen my comment.

@RafaelWörner I thought you were going to ask about the unanswered part, the alignment of the number at the bottom (which is harder by the way) alignment of tabular or minipage with the number at the top are the same you just want top alignment ([t])

2:14 PM
Hi all, I've just missed 9999 rep

@DavidCarlisle oups, wasn't aware of that, thanks.

@michal.h21 Dowvote five of @DavidCarlisle's answers as soon as possible.
@michal.h21 Did you see my comments on your ctanbib.lua?

2:39 PM
@egreg good plan @michal.h21 congratulations on the 10K

3:12 PM
@egreg I was exhausted and had to go home, it is too late now as I've earned +50 points while I was in a subway :(
@DavidCarlisle thank you, it is too late now, maybe I could do that at 100 004 :)

@michal.h21 What a shame! ;-) Congratulations for being a half-trusted user!
@michal.h21 Your work place seems not very far from Pivovarský dům

3:32 PM
Be careful when you are using bags with zippers, Watch it.

1 hour later…
4:44 PM
I read that Apple developed a new font for Watch instead of using Helvetica (used in iOS7).

5:43 PM
I didn't even notice that he changed the name again. Hey @Ohmyghost!

@michal.h21: Congrats! :)

6:06 PM
@Johannes_B Hi, nice to meet you again. :-)

@Ohmyghost You have been mentioned on Meta -> meta.tex.stackexchange.com/questions/4618/…

7:11 PM
Herbert is 18. :)Paulo Cereda 6 secs ago

If PDF uses big point (bp) and TeX uses point (pt), why don't we deprecate pt and just use bp to avoid the loss due to rounding in the conversion?

7:28 PM
@PauloCereda Yes, he was 15 when I joined TeX.SX.

@egreg Das kinder. :)

@Ohmyghost because (a) TeX is (more) right than postscript and (b) it'll serve no purpose other than break stuff:-)

@Ohmyghost Because they are wrong.

@Ohmyghost see @egreg and I are in agreement (and egreg was more concise than me) so it must be true

@egreg They are wrong? So both are wrong?

7:30 PM
@egreg Not as bas as the guillemet/guillemot business ;-)

@Ohmyghost They means the people at Adobe, of course.

@egreg OK. Thanks.
@DavidCarlisle OK. Thanks.

@Ohmyghost :)

I am watching Godzilla. Quite calming non disaster-related movie previous to a flight. :)

@Ohmyghost and there isn't really any loss due to rounding error, any more than if you set a margin in in or cm or anything else there is a scaling factor to do but as long as you use it the accuracy is likely to be far greater than any usable viewing resolution
@Ohmyghost texbook says:
\danger The units have been defined here so that precise conversion to~sp
is~efficient on a wide variety of machines. In order to achieve this,
\TeX's ``pt'' has been made slightly larger than the official printer's
point, which was defined to equal exactly $\rm.013837\,in$ by the American
Typefounders Association in~1886 [cf.~National Bureau of Standards
Circular~570 (1956)]. In fact, one classical point is exactly
$.99999999\pt$, so the ``error'' is essentially one part in $10^8$.
This is more than two orders of magnitude less than the amount by which
@Ohmyghost so TeX's pt is a negligible bit bigger than a standard point, but postscript points are a lot bigger

7:37 PM
@PauloCereda In “Airplane!” the movie that's on during the travel show a sequence of airplane crashes.

@egreg :)

@egreg not a good thing to remind him of before he flies:-)

@PauloCereda You should look that movie.

@egreg Good idea. :)

@JosephWright They didn't have the Internet for checking, at that time. Libraries and dictionaries were too far away.

Could one of the moderators investigate these false reviews in the Late Answers review queue: 51492 51495...
@JosephWright, see ^^^.

@ChristianHupfer I was walking with a pace of about 11 min/km (roughly 5.5 km/h) but look at this -> de.wikipedia.org/wiki/…
@Werner There is no answer, is that what you mean?

@Johannes_B there is a deleted answer (you need 10K I suppose to see it)

@DavidCarlisle Ah, ok, that makes sense.
@DavidCarlisle Concerning the needed rep; i'm working on it.
10 hours ago, by Christian Hupfer
@Johannes_B: Congrats: You don't need Approvers any longer :-P

@Werner Looking now

@Johannes_B They were both late answers that were deleted. However, the reviews mentioned "No Action Needed" when they were clearly non-answers.

8:57 PM
I lost at interesting twist. :)

@Werner I am sorry, but i am so low rep, that i don't see the deleted things. Joseph will have a look, i trust him.

@Johannes_B Yup.

9:45 PM
@Johannes_B Do you need rep? I'll be happy to give you some by starting a bounty as you are a respected member of TeXwelt.

@HenriMenke No, i don't need rep. But thanks :-) Why are you asking?

@Johannes_B I wanted to support you on your way towards the 10k, which will enable you to see deleted posts.

@HenriMenke More rep means to bear more responsibility.
@HenriMenke Right now i have the task of being a moderator on golatex and latex-communit.org.
That seems to be enough right now. Ask me tomorrow ;-)
@HenriMenke But i really appreciate the offer. We are a nice little community.

10:49 PM
@percusse I was searching for the real deal, but couldn't get any results (i didn't try very hard). Please have a look at 2:50 vvvv

This should be zapped. :D

@PauloCereda flagged as rude (and downvoted)

@tohecz Me too.

Hello! I hope you are not surprised that this your post that (1) is rude, (2) is posted as an answer while it's not an answer and (3) is posted by a new member that obviously has no idea how the site works, I hope you're not surprised it gets significantly downvoted. — tohecz 1 min ago

@tohecz I only flagged it. I don't like downvoting users for not reading FAQ. Only when they do it repeatedly I downvote them.

I didn't downvote it, I think the guy is either a spammer or someone who doesn't know how to use the interwebz. :)

11:28 PM
@PauloCereda ...or a troll.

@HenriMenke Don't feed them. :)

@HenriMenke Well, the OP didn't write a good question, but he is already confused by the previous bad answer. This second answer is bad for this, too. It IMHO deserves downvotes so that it gets auto-deleted. Oh wait, we can vote to delete! Zapped :D

@tohecz Downvotes! Are we on StackOverflow? ;)

@HenriMenke well, I use them almost only for spam. This was enough spam to get one from me

@PauloCereda Maybe this image fits better

11:32 PM
@HenriMenke lol

@HenriMenke I too have the same impression: it seems that the new user hit the submit button without adding anything, so the default message appeared.

@tohecz @egreg May i ask who the new user is? The one with a standard texsxnumber?

@Johannes_B Somebody who posted a silly non answer.

@egreg As i see an avatar above that i don't see in the Q/A i think the answer is alreaady dealt with?

11:51 PM
@Johannes_B Yes, deleted.
Good night.

@egreg Good night
