Things were quite dangerous in USP these days. Lots of riots in the gates, the protesters were confronting the police, a lot of bombs, tear gas and stuff. They made barriers in a lot of entrances and assaulting students who were trying to enter.

Am I allowed to ask about MathJax here, or will I be laughed at? ;)
Nevermind, got it myself.

cfr
2:08 AM
@hichris123 You laughed at yourself or you asked yourself about MathJax?

2:19 AM
@cfr ... let's go with both. ;)

Good MAEN ;-)

@tohecz Weird Icelandic singer.

@ChristianHupfer Almost 6! Moving day?

7:21 AM
@TorbjørnT. That's the one

@Johannes_B I think your reply is about right: with no clue as to what the OP is doing, it's guesswork

@JosephWright Thanks, i added another advice just now.
@JosephWright I wonder what the OP means by too deeply tutorials.

7:41 AM
@Johannes_B: No, I could not sleep
@Johannes_B: I just read latex-communist.org.forum ;-)

7:58 AM
@PauloCereda do you read every cricket site now to find these things?

2 hours later…
10:01 AM
@DavidCarlisle I think @PauloCereda heard bobby Cliff too often.

10:32 AM
@DavidCarlisle I have now this moral obligation of understading cricket. :)
@David: I found it because I am now addicted to QI, then I heard Stephen Fry narrated those cricket thingies. :)
Yay, Doctor Who is back!

@PauloCereda :)

@cgnieder There's no bloody way I can finish all my projects now. :)

@PauloCereda lol. I know what you mean!
this makes my eyes hurt only by thinking about it: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/197664/…

10:48 AM
@cgnieder I remember my friends and I once wrote a script that detects documents with a high level of ink usage, so we "invert the colours" before sending the job to the printer. :P

11:01 AM
@PauloCereda :) Were the documents still readable?

@cgnieder Yep. :)

1 hour later…
12:09 PM
I am off, see you later

Hello everybody.
Can someone tell me what the expansion of \romannumeral-`} is?

@HenriMenke I'd say: nothing. It looks like a way to smuggle an unbalanced brace...
@PauloCereda :)

@cgnieder Why not {\ifnum0=`} then? It's shorter.

@HenriMenke I don't know. I've never seen the first version for this anywhere... But since it expands to nothing (\edef\foo{foo\romannumeral-}foo}\show\foo`)...

1:49 PM
@cgnieder concerning the important thingies -> golatex.de/viewtopic,p,63424.html#63424

2:01 PM
@Johannes_B »mir hat's nix gebracht« – that's quite a helpful response, isn't it ;)

@cgnieder Jep.

@Johannes_B @cgnieder Is anyone of you attending the DANTE-Meeting in Karlsruhe?

@HenriMenke No, sorry.
@HenriMenke maybe next year.

@HenriMenke maybe part of it. It's my nephew's first day of school that day and I promised my brother to come...

@cgnieder I will also only be there for the actual meeting on saturday.

2:12 PM
@HenriMenke if I come then rather late in the afternoon. (Einschulung is on Saturdays apparently...)

2 hours later…
3:58 PM
@DavidCarlisle Did you see that Morten really does seem to be back? We have to get him to register here :-)

Sorry, question deleted. The solution was obvious: \usefonttheme{professionalfonts}.

4:20 PM
OK, I must be being dense or something. How do I obtain/install the l3prop package (TL2014 Full)? I'm trying to test out pkgloader but it tells me File `l3prop.sty' not found.

@PaulGessler Something is doing something daft
@PaulGessler You don't load the various expl3 modules separately, and we recently merged the 'kernel' modules into a single file
@PaulGessler Log?

@JosephWright uno momento por favor
My first serious venture into expl3 and I've already broken things... :D

@PaulGessler Yup: pkgloader does something daft and tries to load a single expl3 module separately
\RequirePackage{l3prop}: oops
Temporary hack: \expandafter\def\csname ver@l3prop.sty\endcsname{} before loading pkgloader

@JosephWright ok so pkgloader needs an update after this recent expl3 merging event?

@PaulGessler Well yes, but that line was wrong for a long time

4:26 PM
@JosephWright that will work for now, thanks!

@PaulGessler We've not allowed loading kernel modules separately for many years

@JosephWright pkgloader is much younger: tex.stackexchange.com/q/123174

@cgnieder Yes, I know
@cgnieder Merge was also announced on LaTeX-L

@JosephWright thanks for your help. I got an error cascade; it appears pkgloader also tries to load modules l3candidates, l3clist.sty, l3msg.sty, and l3prg.sty separately. Maybe I will wait until this is patched up. No hurry, it was just going to be an updated answer to an old question on the site.
Should I report this to Michiel or is this already known?

@PaulGessler New one on me, so I'd report it
@PaulGessler He's got a load of incorrect load lines in lt3graph

Hi! Nice Sunday tour in the mountains behind Nice. :)

@egreg Cool
@egreg I'm thinking about allocation routines :-)

@JosephWright I'm not. ;-)

@egreg Good plan
@egreg Also have Proms on

@JosephWright What are they playing?

@egreg Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique

7:25 PM
@JosephWright I don't think I'll connect. ;-)

7:46 PM
@DavidCarlisle Doing anything exciting for the long weekend?

Good MAEN ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Yo!

@JosephWright got on a bike for first time in um 20 years probably:-) (pedal variety not motor)

@DavidCarlisle Cool

@JosephWright M got a new bike and can't keep up on foot any more:-)

8:00 PM
@DavidCarlisle :-)

@JosephWright ;-)

@egreg you're in France?

8:15 PM
@JosephWright: Mod hammer? ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Indeed

@JosephWright Very fast indeed ;-)
@PauloCereda: Good evening ;-)

@Christian: hello from temperantia (my iPad). :)

@PauloCereda: Pah!!!!!
@PauloCereda: For all believers in the i - something ;-)

@tohecz Just a tour. From here to Nice it's just 240km.

8:23 PM
@egreg ah ok, I wasn't sure, but I thought htat this is a possibility :)

@DavidCarlisle Not my kind of bike. ;-)
@tohecz Have you ever heard of “col de Turini”? It's a famous road used in the Montecarlo Rally. Very tough.

@egreg no, I have not

@Christian: personally, I don't badmouth Apple. They have a lot of annoyances, but I am happy with their machinery. My workflow is basically Mac and Linux machines, with my faithful bash prompt open all the time.

@PauloCereda: ;-) I was just poking you :D
@JosephWright: Is this approval justified? tex.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/50261 It's too much in my point of view

@tohecz A 1200 m climb. Quite steep.

8:28 PM
@Christian: I know. :)

@PauloCereda: Sorry about yesterday, I had no occasion to come back to my daily drug dosage of TeX.SX ;-)

@David: to the tune of bicycle race from Queen. :)

@ChristianHupfer Mainly a picture?

@JosephWright: I think, an editor should not add a screen shot to some other user's answer, he could ask him/her to do so... well, one can dispute about pro and con, as always ;-)

Q: When is (and isn't) it acceptable to edit?

Juan A. NavarroUpdate: Sort of ironically, this question has been left unedited for a while, even when there seemed to be some consensus in the answers below of the kinds of edits that are acceptable and those that are not. So I'll do my best to update it with what seems to have been the consensus in the end. A...

8:33 PM
@ChristianHupfer the changes to the code are a bit strange but ...

@ChristianHupfer Adding screenshots is on the 'allowed' list (doesn't alter the meaning, adds value, ...)

@JosephWright: Accepted, after reading that post ...

@ChristianHupfer I'd have used a cropped image, mind

@JosephWright: Yes, the quality is poor... nevertheless, although allowed, I would personally apply such changes to answers, but rather leaving a comment, asking for improvement

@ChristianHupfer Remember the whole wiki-like business in the SE model: one of the points is that people other than the original author can edit-to-improve

8:47 PM
@JosephWright: Yes, I know (by now even extended), users can but do not have too edit-to-improve (of course I am not implying the possibly of editing-to-get-even-worse ;-) )
By the way... where is Werner? Seen him not for days on chat ...

9:05 PM
I am off ... have a nice time

2 hours later…
10:43 PM
Evening! :)
