I'm making my own beamer template in LyX. On every slide, I want to place a logo and a horizontal line above the slide title. Also, I would like the line to be black.
In the LaTeX preamble I have the following:
\usepackage{textpos} % package for the positioning
\addtobeamertemplate{frametitle}{...
![The color gradient between the block title and block body in beamer leaves a small white line to the far left of where the color-gradient bar used to be
I used these four lines at the beginning of my page to make more visible.
\useinnertheme{rounded}
\makeatletter
\pgfdeclareverticalshading...
I recently recommended lyx to a fellow writer. He downloaded it onto his MS box, but the download evidently didn't include KOMAScript.
Questions:
Does the CTAN KOMAScript package run on MS?
If not, where can he find a version that does?
I'm a Linux user so the MS world is land of mystery to ...
I have to leave now. Bye everyone. In the next few days I will continue to answer some other beamer unanswered questions (I spotted some that I'd really like to answer).
@ripero I know but colour in tex has a lot of issues and that's been my standard response for all of them for the last 20 years, i introduced the color package originally at a DANTE meeting and had that on most of the slides:-)
@ripero latex knows nothing aboyt colour or about what colours a back end supports (these days pdftex dvips and xetexs dvipdfmx are probably main ones that matter but originally there were loads and all very different,...
Title pretty much says it all. This happens both when in "mathmode" $$ and in general. Whats the problem? I'm using www.sharelatex.com online compiler.
@ripero but it needs to set up a default colour so just uses a named colout "black" and every back end has to define that. I'm not sure why the cmyk black osn't as black as you'd expect., but you can alswyas redefine the colour "black" using rgb or greyscale or whatever does give black, if you \definecolor{black} before `\begin{document} that should be what is used
As Barbara mentioned in her comments, you can use mechnaisms like
\markboth or \markright.
I just added the mark to your definitions.
I also defined a command xchapter that takes an optional
argument that will be typeset as the subtitle. The command in
general patches the original \@makeschapter...
Advanced classes like memoir and the KOMA-script classes define
commands for nearly every possible instance to hook into. In your
case this is \chapterheadstart. You can of course renew the
command after defining, but it would be certainly more clean to
use this in the \makechapterstyle definitio...
I just installed kpfonts via MikTex Package Manager.
I tried to reproduce the following example which is taken from this thread
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{ntheorem}
\newtheorem{theorem}{Theorem}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\DeclareMathOperator{\Res}{Res}
\usepackage{k...
@DavidCarlisle, @egreg, @PauloCereda (or others) What's the name of the Unix command to keep sending a key input or similar to a command? Like echoing something to a command, but repeatedly.
I'm a beginner of Tex, I met a problem when trying to run the following code..
1.3925 \ProcessKeyvaloptions{Hyp}
I tried to generate a PDF file using LaTex...maybe this is the problem..the options are:
PDFTexify
PDFLaTex
PDFTex
Texify
LateX
Tex
AMSTeX
Con TeXt
LuoLa TeX
Lua TeX
XeLa TeX
XeTeX

@ripero yes sure, but the colour named 'black' can be anything depending on the driver but if before begin document you go \definecolor{black}{rgb}{0,0,0}\color{black} then you will get rgb as default black
@DavidCarlisle Thank you, that's useful. It's not really a problem with my documents, but with the default headers of the epslatex terminal of gnuplot - I am getting those grey-ish fonts, and I want to file a bug with the possible solution, but switching to the xcolor package seemed a little too much.
@ripero I put an answer on site, could be taken as a change request for colour packages dvips support file (which is I suppose maintained by me although it hasn't changed in decades) it could set the default using rgb instead of cmyk that is if instead of \def\current@color{ Black} dvips.def had a numeric rgb 000 color seems it would be blacker (or alternatively could ping the maintainers of dvips to get them to change its colour named Black to be blacker ...
@DavidCarlisle Thank you. I think that any of the two solutions you suggest would be a good solution, but you have a much deeper understanding of everything, so please do what you think best (or easier!).
@ripero like anything in this area changing it is easy: it's wondering on the affect of the change on 20 years worth of archived documents that's scary. I'll think about it.
