I was looking at this question, flagged as dupe - apple.stackexchange.com/questions/162638/… & consequently went to the original & changed the URL to VLC for the front page, to prevent it going out of date…

...but it left me wondering, does it need the libbluray addition for consumer use, or does it run 'out of the box' with Blu Ray? I have no bluray to test with. If it's to be a canonical answer, this info ought to be added.

@timothymh It's great for occasional use, but the latency is too great for everyday use :( The developer is constantly updating it though!
