@KeshavSrinivasan I one wants to learn Vishishtadvaita, then which Ramanujacharyas scripture is recommended i.e Bhashya on BG or BS?
@anuvaramban सुप्रभात

@Pandya GM, Namo Narayanaya!

@anuvaramban Namo Narayana. Btw, which languages do you know?

@Pandya I know English (Native Level) and Tamil (Native Level). You?

@anuvaramban English, Hindi and Gujarati. (Can you not read Hindi?)
@anuvaramban So, do you live in TN?

@Pandya yeah, where do you live?
@Pandya I can read, i can't speak or write :)

2:24 AM
@anuvaramban Guess from languages I do know.
@anuvaramban oh! ok

@Pandya lol ok
@Pandya If you don't mind sharing, why do you want to read VA?

@anuvaramban you mean Vishishtadvaita?

@Pandya yeah :D

@anuvaramban Though I know much about Advaita and VA, I've not read any VA scripture yet. So, I think if I can resolve something by reading it!

@Pandya nice!

2:31 AM
@anuvaramban Btw, Have you read overview?

@Pandya yeah i remember reading this a while back
@Pandya didn't fully read it though ;)

@anuvaramban ok. Btw, which philosophy do you belong to or believe in?
@Tezz नमस्कार, सुप्रभात & प्रणाम । 💐

@Pandya I think VisishtAdvaita holds the answer to the questions i have.

@anuvaramban which question?

@Pandya chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/36133240#36133240 Does this mean you will be known as PandyAcharya for expositing PandyAdvaita soon? :)

2:35 AM
@Pandya नमस्कारम् ।।

@anuvaramban Haha! No, I believe one Param Satya! I may try to unite them (A & VA).

@Pandya noble task indeed.

Haha lol.. PandyAcharya and PandyAdvaita...😀😀

@Tezz Haha but Ananda is more providential like Tejananda!
> यतो वाचो निवर्तन्ते । अप्राप्य मनसा सह । आनन्दं ब्रह्मणो विद्वान् । न बिभेति कुतश्चनेति ।

2:47 AM
@Pandya haha ... 😀😀

1 hour later…
4:14 AM
@Pandya I would recommend the Sri Bhashya, i.e. his commentary on the Brahma Sutras. I would also recommend Ramanujacharya's Vedartha Sangraha.

4:45 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan Yes, ok Thanks. I think Vedartha Sangraha is very important; found Sanskrit-English this. If you know Sanskrit-Hindi version then tell. /cc @Tezz @TheDestroyer

5:13 AM
I think available on DLI

5:27 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan Found from Internet Archive : archive.org/details/VedarthaSangrahaOfRamaujaNeelMeghacharya :)

@Pandya Oh, is that Hindi?

@KeshavSrinivasan Yes, Sri Bhagavad Ramanujacharya Virachit Vedartha Sangraha (original Sanskrit verses) with Hindi commentary by Sri Neelmeghacharya
@KeshavSrinivasan Btw, what do you think is it possible to unite Advaita & Vishishtadvaita?

@anuvaramban you can read hindi and can't write? how?

5:49 AM
@Pandya Well, they contradict each other. But you can certainly create a philosophy which is a mix of Advaita beliefs and Visistadvaita beliefs. There already are countless Vedantic philosophies which agree with Advaita on some issues and Visistadvaita on other issues. I think those philosophies are incorrect, though.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yes, I'm thinking to unite them by explaining how both can be correct according to the nature and state of preaching.
@KeshavSrinivasan Btw, I think Ramanujacharya refuted Advaita in his commentaries so, I think it is very difficult to make Advaita correct for Vishishtadvaitin! Haha

@Pandya Haha yeah. But in one sense you could say Advaita is true: Advaitins strives to attain a state called Kaivailya. Visistadvaitins agree that those who follow the path of Advaita attain the state of Kaivalya, we just think that that is a bad state to attain.
@TheDestroyer A while back you asked me if there's any way you could get Shaivite marks on your body, akin to how Sri Vaishnavas get the Shankha and Chakra branded on their shoulders. Well, I have some good news and bad news on that. The good news is that there is a Shaiva Siddhanta initiation ritual to put Shaivite marks on your body; see this excerpt from Aghorasiva's Kriyakramadyotika:

@KeshavSrinivasan Do Vishishtadvaita consider Kaivalya as Ekatva?

@TheDestroyer The bad news is that no one does this particular ritual anymore.
@Pandya Yeah, Ekatva and Kaivalya are the same. It's a state in which you experience your own Atma.

@KeshavSrinivasan haha. It's overall bad news.

6:03 AM
@TheDestroyer Well, it may still be worthwhile for you to get initiated by a Shaiva Siddhanta Acharya, even if you don't get any marks on your body.

@KeshavSrinivasan And Vadakallai believes Kaivalya as eternal Mukti right?

@KeshavSrinivasan I think most of Acharyas here are Smarthas. But i will soon take initation by Shiva Siddhanta or Advaita Acharya.

@Pandya No, Thenkalais believe it's eternal, Vadakalais believe it's temporary.

@KeshavSrinivasan oh! yes Thenkalais believe it eternal.

@Pandya So Vadakalais believe that those who attain Kaivalya will ultimately get reborn and thus get another opportunity to get true Moksha, i.e. Sayujya. Whereas Thenkalais believe that those who attain Kaivalya are forever trapped in that state, and they'll never attain Sayujya.

6:11 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan oh! If it is the case of trapping, it can't be considered as Mukti and hence it can't be eternal. (Simple explanation to Thenakklai that it is not eternal).

@Pandya Also, there is a difference between Thenkalais and Vadakalais on the location of souls who have attained Kaivalya. Thenkalais believe that Kaivalya is in the outskirts of Paramapadam. Vadakalais believe that Kaivalya is in the material Lokas.

@KeshavSrinivasan The goal of Yoga is also Kaivalya.

@Pandya Well, it is liberation in the sense of freedom from the cycle of birth and death. But it prevents you from attaining Sayujya.
@Pandya Yeah, it's the goal of Patanjali Yoga.

@KeshavSrinivasan You have discussed the story of Nathamuni having the knowledge of Yoga Rahasya. Any idea is it related to Patanjali's Yoga or talk about Kaivalya?

@Pandya By the way, the difference about the location is connected to the difference about whether Kaivalya is eternal. Vishnu's abode of Paramapadam is eternal, so Thenkalais believe Kaivalya is eternal. The material Lokas are subject to destruction, so Vadakalais believe that if a soul is in Kaivalya it will ultimately get reborn.
@Pandya No, the Yoga Rahasya wasn't related to Patanjali Yoga. It was about meditating upon Vishnu to attain Moksha, i.e. Sayujya.

6:18 AM
@RakeshJoshi Yes i meant that only..When easier methods are available why cut ur tongue and practice the khechari mudra ? :P...Btw Khecari mudra stops the soma from falling down..how it is a remedy for moon related problems?If @Seeker thinks that moon is troubling him thn he can simply read any stotram of Mother Goddess as she is the over-ruling deity..

@KeshavSrinivasan Hmm... ok

@KeshavSrinivasan Do Atoms have chid (consciousness)?

@RakeshJoshi @Seeker a more simple remedy is charity..On mondays donate anything related to chandra to womenfolks or to any Shiva Temples..like white rice..etc,,that does the job..

Mar 12 at 17:23, by Pandya
@KeshavSrinivasan Does Jivatma has it's own consciousness or of Brahman?
@KeshavSrinivasan ^^ according to Vishishtadvata.

@Pandya The Jivatma has its own consciousness.

6:24 AM
@Seeker You question is already asked.
2
Q: Atma and cells in the body

Nikhil RaghavendraThe Atma resides in the body and the body is made up of billions of cells. So lets say someone donates blood or simply some of their cells are isolated, do the blood cells and the isolated cells also carry the Atma of that person? Has anything like this been stated in the scriptures? EDIT I am ...

@KeshavSrinivasan Do Chairs and pots get Moksha? (Pot was given Moskha by Krishna)

Btw, as luch time comes closer, more users visit this room in hope of someone will offer "Prasadam" Haha!!
@KeshavSrinivasan ok
@KeshavSrinivasan We'll discuss later. Good bye!

@KeshavSrinivasan In Advaita, we can understand Pot getting Moskha as knowing it's true nature of Sat (existence) Chit (Consciousness) Ananada (bliss) from Sat (existence) without Chit and Ananda. But is this true for VA?

@Pandya lol.
@Tezz Take the Prasadam.

@TheDestroyer haha ok... 😀😀

6:36 AM
@Tezz 😀😀

Thanks @Rickross you can also answer on Gouri question.
@TheDestroyer oh thanks.

@KeshavSrinivasan haha. I saw Wisdom comments.
5
Q: What is the "essence of the earth and heaven" given by Brahma to sage Gautama at his marriage?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this answer, the Shiva Purana describes the origin of the Godavari River. According to this excerpt from the Kotirudra Samhita of the Shiva Purana, after the sage Gautama prays to Shiva for a long time, Shiva appears before him, and Gautama asks Shiva for the Ganga river to be br...

@TheDestroyer where is comment of wisdom in that?...

@Tezz They are deleted. He asked keshav if he got any money from anti Hindu organizations for using on questions.

@TheDestroyer haha lol...

6:49 AM
@Tezz btw, That question can be answered. Brahma gave some Ganga from his Kamandalu to Shiva on his (Shiva's) marriage and it was referring to that. But i forgot where i read that. I think Shiva Purana or Brahma Purana. /@KeshavSrinivasan

@TheDestroyer btw noone uses Mythology tag now...
@TheDestroyer Ok... then answer it...

@Tezz Do you know any such story?

@TheDestroyer No, I don't know...

I forgot where i read that. I searched that in Sati and Parvari's marriage with Shiva, but none of those chapters has this story.

@SreeCharan My limited Third Language experience in school!

6:58 AM
@SreeCharan Many Tamilians and Andhra people are like that. Even i was like that. I could read Hindi but didn't understand a single word or could speak it. Later, i was able to understand due to my Hindi friends.
@SreeCharan Hindi only helped me to read Devanagari and write Devangari.
@SreeCharan As hyderabad or TG speaks Urdu/Hindi, Telangana can understand Hindi. You might know, Tamil region and mostly Andhra region opposed Hindi as National language.

@TheDestroyer There is no National Language concept in India.

@anuvaramban Yes. English and Hindi are official languages.

@TheDestroyer ;)

7:50 AM
@Seeker How can i answer what is the spiritual benefits of worshiping the Mother Goddess ?Sorry that is not possible for me..By worshiping Devi one gets Iham, param both..

@Rickross you will only understand my point when you know What khechari is ..

further the methods you mentioned are quite rudimentary... donation will hardly take 10-15 mins per week.. is it sufficient to cure the issues ? i dont think so.. external methods are not as effective as the internal ones

@RakeshJoshi yes they are simple and effective..Charity is an effective remedy for all people..But if someone is capable of more advanced techniques then he can very well use that too..
@RakeshJoshi as far as i have understood he thinks his moon is weak..so that was the real reason behind his Q..

8:07 AM
Sure @Rickross

8:18 AM
@anuvaramban Can you tell me how Sword of Lord Vishnu took avatar? I'm shocked as sword is insentient. I think I'm missing something. 😑
Sword has Jeevatma inside? 😵

@RakeshJoshi Mudras and Yoga techniques are learned only under Guru. But methods mentioned in Puranas are simple and devotion plays important role here.
@Seeker Nandaka of Lord Vishnu is Annamacharya.

@TheDestroyer oh. But what about my question. Sword has Jeevatma inside?
I've read Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Vishnu too took an avatar.

@Seeker I think that Divine Sword knows it's true form as Sat, Chid and Anananda.

@TheDestroyer 😓

@Seeker Chair has only Sat without chid and Ananda.
But everything's true form is Sat Chid Ananada

8:25 AM
Great @TheDestroyer I too thought the same today morning. Can you cite sources.
In other words Chairs are Shiva swaroop without Shakti. @TheDestroyer

@Seeker No. Shiva is Consciousness (Sentient) and Shakti is Prakriti (insentient).
@Seeker There's an answer by Swami Vishwananda. Let me search.

Insentient is without consciousness, Prakriti can't be insentient.

@Seeker then Prakriti also has Chit?

Btw, Trika has its own facts on Prakriti but Vedanta has derived it's Prakriti concepts from Sankhya. What do you mean by Prakriti? Your version? @TheDestroyer

@Seeker I'm not sure. But from Shiva Purana i read, Shiva is soul and matter is Prakriti which is insentient.

8:33 AM
@Rickross no its not the case.
@TheDestroyer i can talk about it but then your dear ones would say that i m arguing for the sake of argument

@TheDestroyer Shiva knows himself only through Shakti. Insentient beings are beings without consciousness. I think Vishithadvaitin can explain about insentient better. :)
@TheDestroyer analogy: Fire - Shiva. Capability to burn or Heat - Shakti

@Seeker I thik that is Shakta view. Shaktas consider Shakti as Chit. Without Shakthi, Shiva is nothing.

Similarly, Knowledge - Shiva, but being conscious of that knowledge is Shakti

@Seeker ohh..

@TheDestroyer it is Trika view as well. You cant separate Shiva & Shakti as you can't separate fire & it's capability to burn.

8:38 AM
@Seeker Yes. We can't separate Shiva and Shakti. Even Shiva Purana says, Shakti is one half of Shiva and Shakti is verly SHiva Himself.
@Seeker But we can't separate "ability to burn" from fire.

Yes @TheDestroyer Very sensitive concept.
Yes, we can't separate
There is no existence of Shakti without Shiva & Shiva would not know itself without Shakti. :)

@Seeker But i think this "ability to burn" is property of fire.

Satya is Shiva ; the capability of Knowing Satya is Shakti.

We can consider it as important property which distinguishes from other substances.
@Seeker Ok. I will know more about that.
@RakeshJoshi Talk about what?

Sure @TheDestroyer

8:43 AM
@TheDestroyer talk about the thing which you've mentioned in your comment.

@RakeshJoshi Mudras and Guru?

and remedies

@Seeker Nandaka, the sword of Lord Vishnu represents an attribute of the lord, so these avatara are akin to these attributes in that they embody those attributes. Nandaka represents jnana attribute if i'm not wrong. They are not to be taken as manifestations of a physical object.

@RakeshJoshi What i meant is, there are dangerous if not practised properly.

@anuvaramban Do you also not believe in Puranas?

8:49 AM
@TheDestroyer Yeah, it is said somewhere i think that Nandaka may also have given rise to the avatara of Shiva.

@TheDestroyer u said that mudras etc can be learned from guru only .. same applies to mantras. even for puranic mantra there is need of initiation right ?

@Seeker what do you mean also?

@anuvaramban Yes. Nandaka is Jnana, though literally Nanda is happiness. There's another analysis of Kalki avatar. Kalki is the one who removes filth. In Kali Yuga, Kali enter hearts of people. Kalki with his sword Nanadaka (Jnana) removes ignorance and destroys Kali (evil from our hearts). Also, horse represents knowledge. It was Hayagriya Avatara of Vishnu which restored Vedas. i think Kalki is true literally and also, metaphorically.

Because many don't believe. @anuvaramban

@RakeshJoshi Yeah. required. but practising Mudras on our own is dangerous to our physical body.

8:52 AM
@TheDestroyer Interesting point. It is also said that Lord Parashurama will be the Guru who teaches the astrajnana to Lord Kalki

@TheDestroyer so in case you have to go to guru right ?

@anuvaramban Yes. Parashurama is Guru.
4
Q: Will Parashurama reappear in Kaliyuga?

Chandra shekarAccording to Hindu mythology, Parashurama is the sixth avatar of Vishnu. He appeared during the last Treta and Dwapara Yugas, he also played important role in the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Are there any chances of Parashurama reappearing in Kaliyuga?

@RakeshJoshi I don't chant Veda Samhita Mantras. Learning is different from initiation.

@Seeker interesting, maybe they have different reasons. I am not educated enough to believe or disbelieve puranas at this moment in terms of a general sentiment to have

@Seeker Who said? many people believe. Only Skeptical don't.

@TheDestroyer i m talking about puranic

8:55 AM
@anuvaramban You can read complete Kalki Purana here

@anuvaramban Then there is a Jeevatma in sword of Lord Vishnu?

@TheDestroyer Thanks, i'll look at it a bit later
9 mins ago, by anuvaramban
@Seeker Nandaka, the sword of Lord Vishnu represents an attribute of the lord, so these avatara are akin to these attributes in that they embody those attributes. Nandaka represents jnana attribute if i'm not wrong. They are not to be taken as manifestations of a physical object.

@RakeshJoshi Puranas are easy to understand, though Guru may say allegories.

But they were physical as well @anuvaramban

@TheDestroyer

Mudras and Yoga techniques are learned only under Guru. But methods mentioned in Puranas are simple and devotion plays important role here.
what are these methods

8:57 AM
@Seeker Lord Krishna is of color black, will you then ask if the colour black has a jeevatma?

I think @anuvaramban , sword is sentient.
@anuvaramban Lord Vishnu doesnt have sword in actual?

@Seeker Soul's true nature is Sat Chid Ananda. Same should be for Nanadaka which is part of Vishnu.
@Seeker You can see that scene here.
8
Q: Story of Lord Vishnu's sword Nandaka?

The DestroyerAccording to Annamayya Telugu Movie, Lord Venkateswara sends his sword NANDAKA to take birth as Tallapaka Annamacharya to compose Telugu songs for Him, at request of Padmavathi Devi. I know Sudarshana Chakra (discus), Gadha (mace) and conch but never heard about his sword. Do any Puranas mentio...

@TheDestroyer @Rickross @Seeker

the point is baseless about the moon because even without seeing the chart how do people decided about moon and related remedies ?

i think its a whim or assumption

@TheDestroyer I know only Hindi and English. :)

@Seeker When it is said that PeyAzhwar is an Avatara of Nandaka, what that means is that he shares in fullness the attributes that is represented by the sword of the Lord Nandaka.

9:00 AM
@Seeker Just posted to see video.
He has Sword.

@RakeshJoshi Can you tell remedies seeing my chart, please.

@RakeshJoshi By devotion i meant, simply doing Charity won't benefit us. We should have devotion while performing methods mentioned in Puranas.

@anuvaramban Oh. Got it.

@TheDestroyer devotion is the most difficult thing actually .. mudras are far more easier.
it takes much efforts really to surrender to god
sages did penance for this

@RakeshJoshi Yes. Nothing comes easily.

9:03 AM
everything is difficult ... if u want to change some thing i n your life .. or yr fate then u have to perform difficult looking things .

Right @RakeshJoshi 😐

if u want to do 10 mins remedies a week and expect changes than its too much optimistic approach i would say

@RakeshJoshi Bhakti is difficult, surrendering to Lord is actually the easiest path according to SriVaishnavaSampradaya :D

@anuvaramban but how many actually get that surrender that ..
all the srivaishnavas have not attained egoless surrender right ?
@Seeker i m also having moon in libra and so does crores of people .. that dont mean they are havving bad moon problems

👍👏

9:10 AM
@RakeshJoshi egolessness is not a requirement, even for a moment if you think of Lord in loving surrender, you will realise he has been with you always.

@anuvaramban when there is ego how come saurrender is possible

Not possible with ego

@RakeshJoshi I'm saying that moment of egolessness, that drop is sufficient. It is like putting a seed crystal into ice cold water - the whole thing freezes in effect.

@RakeshJoshi but i indeed have moon problems. I've analyzed myself.

so just 1 moment of egoless is giving life long surrender ?

9:14 AM
@RakeshJoshi egolessness = Loving Surrender to Lord.

then how u say its not required

@RakeshJoshi because it is not the cause!

9:25 AM
anyone telugu reader here?

@RakeshJoshi His moon is placed in Tula rashi which made him to think that it is neecha..but actually moon is neecha in Vrishchika & not in Tula..

that is what .. assumptions and whims have no solution .

But in any case i am more for practical and easy to do remedies than cumbersome ones..BTW which scriptures say that Yoga is a remedy for astrological problems?I think though that it can be

its not for astrology but for problems of manas and chitta

@RakeshJoshi Ok..

10:35 AM
@RakeshJoshi eduku?

nothiong i had posted one answer about sudarshan mantra

@RakeshJoshi Yeah.saw it. but didn't see document.

its in telgu

1 hour later…
11:43 AM
@RakeshJoshi do you watch his pravachans?

Oh OK!!
He sung one devotional song "radhe radhe".... I don't understand why people of my area play this during ganesh chaturthi ^^

for music and beats

Gaurav krishna goswami has done some soulful rendition
more importance to radha in north when compared to south india.

11:51 AM
Yeah....

Yeah. This one..

vraj bhoomi is special... love is in the air ..

i wish to visit there during Holi .. which is best in india. Barsana is birth place of radha.

You will one day :)
@SreeCharan your profile is nice. The way you explain about your profile pic :)

All the weapons of vishnu incarnated as Alwars. Eventhough the sword shankha, chakra, garland, kaustubha jewel etc., are jeevas, they are nityasuris. they are always present in Vaikuntam along with haring. they are not born again and again @Seeker
Thanks.@KrishnShweta

12:03 PM
:)

Yes@TheDestroyer vishnu holds the weapons. They are called Panchayudhas.107 ,108 shlokas of Vishnu sahasra namam mention about them.

Got it @SreeCharan, metaphysically as well.

i think everyone should travel to vraj at least once.

@RakeshJoshi I will try.
@SreeCharan the song you shared was very good. :)

12:44 PM
@TheDestroyer @Tezz Can you quote Taittiriya Upanishad II. vi. 1 here?

12:54 PM
This link iep.utm.edu/kashmiri although haven't yet studied completely but seems extremely important. @RakeshJoshi . And @TheDestroyer whatever today we have concluded is being said there (I think).@Tezz

1:11 PM
II-vi-1: If anyone knows Brahman as non-existing, he himself becomes
non-existent. If anyone knows that Brahman does exist, then they
consider him as existing by virtue of that (knowledge).
Of that preceding (blissful) one, this one is the embodied self. Hence
hereafter follow these questions: After departing (from here) does any
ignorant man go to the other world (or does he not) ? Alternatively,
does any man of knowledge, after departing (from here) reach the
other world (or does he not) ?
He (the Self) wished, “Let me be many, let me be born. He undertook a
deliberation. Having deliberated, he created all this that exists. That
(Brahman), having created (that), entered into that very thing. And
having entered there, It became the formed and the formless, the
defined and the undefined, the sustaining and the non-sustaining, the
sentient and the insentient, the true and the untrue. Truth became all
@Seeker ^^^ is Taittariya Upanishad 2.6.1..

1:46 PM
@SreeCharan Shankhabhurnandaki chakri sharangadhanvagadadharaha??

2:04 PM
See @Tezz Brahman has capability to create, it is not passive at all. And since Brahman has created, it is aware of creation/Maya. Since creation is carried out by Brahman & creation is possible only via Maya, Maya too is in control of Brahman.
Taittariya saying clearly, Brahman created.

2 hours later…
4:05 PM
@KrishnShweta When I put Annamayya along with Little Venkateshwara as profile picture, everyone asked wht is this meaning and who is it. So then on I started giving description of the profile pic too.
@Seeker Thanks.
@Yogi Yes.

4:17 PM
@Rohit Ok. I will see it.
@Rohit Ohh..you changed it to real name.

yes @TheDestroyer :)
@TheDestroyer Do you meditate>

Oh! You changed it just now? @Rohit?

Yes @SreeCharan

@Rohit Only Surya Namaskaras.

Do you meditate @SreeCharan @anuvaramban ?

4:20 PM
@Rohit I used to meditate on Panchaskhari mantra but stopped now.

Oh @TheDestroyer It benifitted?

@Rohit Only Pranayamam daily. meditation rarely.

I tried a lot of meditation techniques
nothing worked :(
Great @SreeCharan @TheDestroyer

Meditating on something is very difficult.
I too tried Meditation some days. But didn't give great result.

Might enroll into Vipassana SN Goeka soon.

4:22 PM
@Rohit Can't say. I sit at one place mostly. So, i should at least do Surya Namaskaras.

Great if you do it daily. (Y)

@Rohit Yeah. Resumed it after some break.
