and I needed to drag out of him what it did, what it's use was, what alternatives were etc

he would have settled on just paraphrasing what was already in the question/answers

like you said: it's about insight

and often that insight isn't clear to those who aren't as knowledgeable

so they need some explaining

So what's the procedure for posting? If I write one, what do I do then? I wouldn't just let everyone publish whenever, as someone needs to have some editorial control so we don't have fifteen posts one day and none the next.

I know @Macha, but most users that are currently editors are well known users who frequent chat a lot

the consensus earlier was to aim for getting at least one post out on every weekday

so if you have a draft wrapped up, you put it on pending, so others know they can review/edit it and it can be scheduled for posting

@Powerlord I added some ideas to my Google Docs with regards to TF2

it would be interesting to have some information about each class, aimed at teaching beginners or intermediate users how to get better at that class and/or how to counter it

they wouldn't have to be long and some youtube video's or screenshots can do a lot of the talking, but it would allow us to stretch the content to get quite some blog posts

Q: Team Fortress 2: What use is Heavy dropping a sandwich?

Recently I've accidentally discovered that you can Right-Click to drop a sandwich (Heavy's 2nd weapon), but then I can't pick it up again. Anyone know what's the point of dropping the sandwich apart from seeing teammate cluelessly gathering around it?

It depends on the class. Obviously, it's easier with Spy as you can screenshot while cloaked.

Although you don't hide the UI elements or whatnot that way.

And also, with screenshot as F12, you can hit it while pressing W.

I'm sure there are tools to convert Source recordings to actual videos.

Alright! I'm finally in here. Let's see what's going on.

On blogging about Meta topics - my thought pattern, like with the ads, is that we probably want to focus more on us as Gamers than us as a Q&A site. Meta subjects of importance to us are likely to get covered in the Stack Overflow blog, as well.
