@goldPseudo how is activity measured in Area51 , do you have an idea?

10:24 AM
Salam @goldPseudo Sorry for the question, but why did you label my answers here as not "consisting primarily of the words of their author"? Are you referring to this answer in Quora? Well I'm its author and I can prove
that! So please revise your decision because I didn't violate the rules.

10:38 AM
@JohnDoe Apart from not being traceable for goldPseudo whether that really was your answer, your answers consisted largely of irrelevant quotations.

@Medi1Saif can't rightly recall. i think it's a weekly median thing.

@G.Bach "Apart from not being traceable for goldPseudo whether that really was your answer" I can prove that, and goldPseudo had to ask me whether those were really my answers especially since I used the same name

i do know that they used different algorithms for determining the A51 stats as compared to the sidebar stats on the main site.

@G.Bach In addition my quotes WERE ALL RELEVANT, the reason why I quoted the whole verse instead of say " If God had so willed, He would have made you one community" is to show that they were not taken out of context. I ask you herein, why do you think that they were "largely [...] irrelevant quotations."?

because they dont talk about religious freedom
they are mostly exhortations to believe, they don't give any explanation what should or should not be done if someone wants to change his religion

10:50 AM
@G.Bach I mentioned each theme (for example "Differences in people's beliefs are bound to happen") that are related to religious freedom and I give under each one the verses that relate to that theme, how's that not "talking about religious freedom"?

@JohnDoe actually i was referring to this thread on reddit which is (a) much older and (b) has no identifiable author.

"religious freedom" means "being protected from prosecution if you change your religion"
or rather, it includes that

@G.Bach Do you think that "Say, ‘Now the truth has come from your Lord: let those who wish to believe in it do so, and let those who wish to reject it do so.’ " doesn't state that?

the other aspect of religious freedom is "public declaration and practice of religion being protected"

@goldPseudo I'm its author

10:52 AM
that is one of about 3 verses you quote that actually talk about the matter

that said, ridiculously long lists of so-called evidences make for terrible answers.

Q: Do evidences speak for themselves?

goldPseudoWe here have had a long and ugly history of copy-paste; as a site we actually seem to have had some success at discouraging these posts, which is an important step toward distinguishing us as a reliable source of Q&A rather than just another forum. Kudos for that. We still see a lot of posts wh...

@goldPseudo But the person was asking for all of the verses that relate to religious freedom, should I limit it simply because "long lists" are apparently bad?

Q: What policy are we to adopt in the copy-pasted answer was self-authored?

Bleeding FingersWhat should we do if the answer that was copy-pasted from an external source was actually authored by the user themselves? Possible cases: It's a complete copy-paste without blockquotes It's a complete copy-paste with(out) blockquotes and stated that the user themselves authored the content on...

@G.Bach Because religious freedom is simply not freedom to apostasy but also "free-will" and other things

a sample of 10 of the verses you quote will come up with less than one verse actually relating to religious freedom on average
no, it doesn't
religious freedom is a term of human rights law

10:54 AM
@G.Bach How can you have religious freedom if there is no "free will"

ok

> Answers should actually answer the question: This one is pretty self-explanatory. Often, copy-paste "answers" were written for a completely different purpose than what they're posted as (i.e. answers); even the ones that are copy-pasted from another Q&A site are rarely answering exactly the question asked here.

@goldPseudo Well mine did answer the question which was "Are there any verses in the Koran/Quran/Qur'an's that speak about religious freedom? If so, which themes are given? And what are these verses?"

anyway, i have no interest in hashing this out in chat right now. please take it to meta.

@JohnDoe I've seen the answer and I would have made the same
that was a long list of verses you should have linked the verses or something
as written it is difficult to read and therefore not helpful at all

10:58 AM
@goldPseudo If you want more proof that I'm its author here's also a github post where I posted I formatted it in markdown and here's also a post in religiousforums.com that I made
Okay I'll take it to meta
@Medi1Saif 1) I had when I wrote that 1 in reputation, I couldn't make links 2) just because it's long doesn't mean it's difficult to read, which is the wrong question here by the way, the correct question is: does it answer the question? Which I believe it does
But in anycase I'll take it to meta to discuss

And G. Bach has a point
most of the verses have no relation to the topic

5 hours later…
4:02 PM
@Medi1Saif How so? Do you think that none of "1. Differences in people's beliefs are bound to happen" "2. Judgement between people in their differences in belief is in the Day of Resurrection and not in this earthly world" "3. Compulsion and coercion is prohibited, and it is the way of the unbelievers and believers are its victims" "4 The Human being is free and responsible for his actions" "
5 Obligation to use the mind, to think and ponder, and prohibition from blindly following the religion of one's parents (hence no such thing as forced faith or blind faith)" "6 The purpose of Prophets
I can't log in to meta does anyone know why?
@G.Bach has no point
