which is pretty much why politics is off-topic here; if people could discuss it reasonably rationally and professionally, it wouldn't be. but they can't, so it is.

academic study can well include an Islamic event like al-Quds day, I don't see the wrong with that.

al-Quds day does not fall under the purview of . right now, the only tag on that question is .

@infatuated Moreover "Int Quds day" is an innovation , anyone came come up with different days "Ayatullah birth day" "Saudi day" etc

which was invented for the question. which usually indicates that its on-topicness is rather tenuous.

@goldPseudo, all Islamic events are first invented!
I really don't see any sane reason for calling it off topic, unrelated, disrespectful! That's the farthest thing from any of those!

12:02 AM
then i don't know what else to say.
take it to meta if you disagree.

int quds day is not even universally acknowledged by Muslims, only those living in that area may have some significance.

this is why i don't like to discuss this sort of thing in chat.

it is highly regional, nationalistic

it just becomes a personal argument which frankly i don't care about.

Whereas we know Islam is against nationalism\tribalism etc

12:04 AM
no community involvement. just your word vs mine.

@UmarAdeel, I leave you free for some other ten minutes to see where you finally end with your arbitrary arguments!
@goldPseudo, I see that. but at least I could get the opinion of 3 users.

If i were mod I would delete such questions
which promote \ criticize specific nations, tribes etc

@UmarAdeel, we are happy that you will never be a mod!

@infatuated me too

So let's abandon discussing why prophet fought the Jews and pagans.

12:14 AM
@infatuated The prophet fought the Shirk and Irreligiousness inside them not the people. Whatever external wars you see were not to get a peice of land, become hero etc but to make the religion of Islam dominant over the people which is in the best interest of the people.

exactly! and that's what al-Quds day is about! if you care the least about the well-being of the people in Palestine!

@infatuated Jihad will always continue for making Islam dominant over all , but that does not mean you single out "days"
did we have "battle of badr day"
"uhud day"

so long as it advances the causes of Islam you can have every legitimate means to do so. you're representing a very rigid and superficial understanding of Islam!

@infatuated No it does not , it wastes muslim resources in useless non productive activities
what these "quds day" people do? take marches on street , candle light .... and its all over.

again, you're making empty claims.
that's a precedent for a greater struggle. an annual reminder to those who tend to fall asleep in regards to their responsibilities towards the Ummah.

12:20 AM
Those who actually fight for palestine are fighting only for palestine not for Islam
highly nationalistic

let be that! fighting for humanity is fighting for Islam. that's what Islam is meant to be!

fighting for Islam means establishing the Shariah of Islam SIMPLE

there are valid notions of nationalism according to Islam. such as defending your land your people against aggression.
before that you have to survive! that's even more simple!

@infatuated Not against people who invade to establish sharia

sure, those who invade and murder to establish sharia are war criminals and should be tried for violating "there is no obligation in religion"

12:23 AM
@infatuated Why dont you quote the entire verse?

see, there's not a single sound premise in your understanding of Islam!
and that's well, salafism!

enough of this. this argument is already getting out of hand.

and that's why they are such glorious images of Islam!
my final word!

@infatuated They are IT is the prefered form of Islam to convert
Most of the new Muslims belong to this
In my country too people are embracing this pure Islam from all walks of life , from all religion, sect? Why?
Its high time we leave behind nationalism, tribalism and adherence to traditional culture
even the world is being prepared for a single world
why U an Iranian is talking to me an Asian?
the world is shedding these man made boudaries and Islam encourages that

Maybe you guys should get a chat room together?

A: Is hijama allowed during fasting on Ramadan?

SayyidHijama is allowed during Ramadhan but not while you're fasting. The Prophet was reported to have said = "The cupper and the one for whom cupping is done both break their fast." (Musnad Ahmed, Sunan Abu Dawud, Jami at Tirmidhi, Sunan ibn Majah) Many scholars made the claim that this was ...

Q: Adam, was he the first human on earth?

Mohammad OwaisWas Adam the first human being of earth?

Do we have a close reason for this type of questions?

@yasar yes\no

12:55 AM
@yasar not really. should probably just be downvoted to oblivion.

@UmarAdeel probably because the Prophet did Hijama while fasting himself, as is clear from the narration of Ibn Abbas in Saheeh Bukari, the book of fasting

the only real problem with it is zero research effort shown.
don't think it quite falls under VLQ, since it's clearly written and answerable and on-topic and all that. it's just...blah.

I am not sure if I did flag it already

Assalamaalaikum @Suhaib are you really a 15 yr old?

W.S, nope. Just wanted to fill out all the fields lol

@Suhaib But that would be lying I guess?

@UmarAdeel once I put in 99 years old, I guess by saying I am 1 years old or 99 I am not technically lying as those are impossible ages for the majority, especially being one years old and accessing the computer ;P

@UmarAdeel, Yeah, I wanted to change it but then I forgot...

@infatuated singling out al-Quds isn't even a rational thing to do while there are literally hundreds of other cities far more valuable. al-Quds is insignificant to Islam except for al-Aqsa and the "temple mount" that it's part of as Allah has blessed it and the surrounding areas. Palestine isn't holy land nor is it any more important than other places. Why not have a "One Ummah day" or something.
But playing favoritism to al-Quds is no less than impurity of nationalism
And i would wholeheartedly dispute the claim that al-Quds was the first Qiblah. This is a sheer fabrication.

@Sayyid You make sweeping claims , may I know what Ideology you belong to?

Q: Why was the question about Al-Quds Day closed?

infatuatedThis question which asks about the origins of the Al-Qud International Day and how it is related to Islam was closed for being off-topic on the pretext of being related to muslim culture or behavior and unrelated to the study of Islam. However Al-Qud Day is an annual international event held by...

Q: How to answer a question based on a link without copy-pasting?

user4150So one of my answers just got deleted because it contained only a copy-pasted part from an external site, even though I also mentioned the link as a source. A few days ago, another of my answers got downvoted because I only provided a link to another external page without mentioning any details ...

@BleedingFingers, Salaam, because in Farsi, Harame Motahar simply means pure or pristine shrine.

@Islamway I think Jews know that there are people in the world who don't like them (or Israel in lieu of them). The question as asked wants to know how that specific day dedicated to such a cause came into being and what it's legitimacy is. I am not bothered by the question, and I'm not sure why any Jew would be. The answers it would solicit, on the other hand, would probably be a very different story.
