huge spike in traffic for some reason. one would almost think it's a significant month in Islam. :)

that's about par for the course.
visit count was about double last Ramadan, and also the Ramadan before that.

I wonder how much of ramadan visitors stick around after ramadan too

hard to say. it's mostly just visits that spike, not so much with the new users.
we seem to get about the same amount of retention as we do the rest of the year, just a lot more activity for the month.

I was thinking maybe we can do same with political discussions, but to be honest I am unsure how that would play out

we've tried having controversial discussions in their own rooms before, but they typically just devolved into the same pointless circles except with less oversight.
i'm all for discussion of politics in chat (either here or in its own room) but it requires everyone being able to discuss it reasonably. when things get heated and stubborn and angry and disrespectful, nothing good comes out of it.
