when we ask questions or answer question we have to put in mind that 90% of the readers are non-muslims and non-arabs.. so we have to make sure to include proper citation, translation and links to provide good answers so people will be convinced and not laughing at us..
I know my last two questions sound weird.. regarding the marriage in islam. but believe it or not it is one of the biggest reasons people are talking badly about islam and the reason is "no one explained it to them the right way"
so we have to concentrate on these difficult bad ass questions..
this is my opinion.. I hope it will be accepted by you
Well, muslims have lots of places to ask.. TV.. radio stations.. but the problem is with non-Muslims... non-Muslims are targeted by bad communities where they mess up the image of islam.. we need to be the good image of islam for non-muslims
if you think most people who come here will be muslims then you are totally wrong..
لا بد ان نتعلم كيف نتقبل الرأي الاخر... والا نهاجم اصحاب الراي الاخر.. ويكون هجومنا عليهم فقط بالحجة والبرهان..
what this site offers over the tv/radio/ask-an-imam-type sites is that they'll get a variety of answers from different schools of thought (God willing) rather than one particular answer from one particular scholar.
stackexchange is one of the biggest communities on the internet.. full with young educated people.. so if you imagine targeting muslims only here.. then you lose all this community :)
I mean, beside the fact that having more than one women is a great headache. How come Islam allows a man to marry up to four women? while women are allowed to marry one man only? whats the point behind that?
but for non-muslims it is not tricky at all.. it is against their beliefs and they take this tricky things as jokes or points against islam (from their point of view).. but if they know the logic behind it then they will understand..
I am not making an assumptions my friend.. I have lived in few countries and I have traveled to more than 20 countries and I met many people who asked me this kind of questions :)
the tricky thing about the "why" type questions is that they imply that there's even an objective answer. we can't really explain why God does what He does or allows what He allows unless He has explained it to us already.
they walk a fine line between on-topic and 'overly subjective and/or argumentative'
This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them... (5:5)

I am sorry but I have no knowledge about the question asked on yahoo answers. The thing is that he has narrated the quote from a book which I dont know
@yasar11732 It's a good one. Actually there was a question about the difference between a particular subject on that matter and I mixed it up with the one you mentioned. So frustrating.
There's also a Wikipedia article about it which seems quite complete.
You see I answered this question Why does a man count as two women in Islam? and gave a link to a page which has the answer and the page title is Women are inferior to men in the Quran ,
@BadgerGirl I find a 20 minute video about the ayat you mentioned in your question, however, it is in Turkish. I will see if something good comes out of it.
Do you know any scholor/article talking about the downloading thinks from internet that you are not supposed to? For example, what Islam thinks about internet piracy?
