How did you change your system info on macOS Sierra. I followed your steps and I still couldn't change the plist info.. I have to submit a serious bug fix adapt but I can't because stupid computer updated to the beta.. Please respond asap

Hi! I've been unable to consistently use the system's shutdown shortcut after upgrading to Sierra. I followed @oa-'s instructions here, which temporarily fixed the problem:

…but the shortcut stopped working again, and repeating those steps again didn't fix it this time. Can anyone advise me on further steps I can take to identify the root of the problem, and solve it in a more robust way?

I just gotta say, it's amazing the difference between the official Apple forums and Ask Different. Half of the questions over there (and half of the answers) wouldn't pass muster here at all; they're just "Whine whine whine, it's broke but I won't give any important details, I should have stuck with Windows 10." Coming here for answers is a real pleasure.

@undo I got a MacBook Pro charger a few months ago for free like that, and I wasn't even asking for it. The old one had the tabbies broken (the ones for wrapping the cable onto).
Then to crown it, when my 5-year-old MacBook Pro's video card died and I went it in for the $310 replacement work, it turned out they had a quality program going for that model so I got the repair done for FREE. Yep, I'm a happy customer.
