I always wait for the initial flurry of OS 10.x broke my [whatever] to subside; then check that my major apps are either still compatible or have updates. I run a pro audio rig which never gets fully-qualified drivers until after release, so I pretty much always wait for the 'point one' release these days.

As I only have one SSD on this machine, cloning the drive to test means either a double clone to update then revert the SSD, or feeling like molasses if I run it off HD.

I'm tempted to try running Sierra in Parallels to get a feel for it; not sure how good a test drive that would really be...
