@goldilocks: I got to reference the blog twice in one answer :P

@Jacobm001 You just made it under the wire on that one, lol. Did you see the original version of that question??

No, I didn't.
Oh wow.
I'm dying over here.
/eyeroll

@Jacobm001 Oh that's where it was -- nearly done. Are we short of things in the pipe?

@goldilocks I have one by @TheBrownOne ready to go for Wednesday. @SteveRobillard is working on something for the week after I believe.

I haven't been keeping up. Been feeling kind of frazzled/stressed lately. Maybe I should chill out and do some blog perusing....

3:01 AM
@goldilocks Netflix and chill?
Do bears do that?
:P
My annoyances of Tumblr aside, I'm quite happy with how the blog is working out so far.

@Jacobm001 Yeah things are flowing. I am glad they are your annoyances. I just keep getting invites to "District Court" ;)

Yeah I saw that.
Did you see my thoughts on using Grav?

@Jacobm001 Not the small town in Norway?!?

lol no.
There's a CMS that's built on a flat file style, markdown database

Okay this: getgrav.org

3:08 AM
I've been playing with it a little.

Can we somehow host that on github or will it be CMS vs. VCS madness?

Well, someone would have to host the file itself, but it'd be really, really easy to manage with github.

Oh they copied this whole idea from me: perl-sloop.net/guide/howto#caching

I was thinking I'd host it on my DigitalOcean account, and then have the local git repo automatically synchronize with github. Both the theme and articles could be easily manged by github.
Then if I ever fall off the face of the earth, it'd be easy enough to transfer to someone else.
Not sure if it's the best plan yet. I know Steve has some reservations, but tumblr has been extraordinarily difficult to customize.

If by "theming" you mean something beyond the black n' white that would be nice...

3:14 AM
Did you see my ping in the other room?

@Jacobm001 No, it probably didn't work because I haven't been there in a few days.

I have an example of a Pi ish theme hosted on an RPi. Didn't want to share the link here.

3:46 AM
@TheBrownOne: VHS!? How old are you?

@Jacobm001 Honestly -- the variety of stuff available through normal consumer mechanisms has taken a plunge since the days of VHS. Very seriously. The first video stores stocked single copies of tons of titles. As they got superseded by chain stores, those instead would stock lots of copies of a few things -- new releases -- and gradually dustbin stuff. Then a lot of stuff just never made it to DVD, probably because of that consumption pattern. So I'm sure there's still a lot of stuff
around you can only watch on VHS.

Oh I'm sure.
I'm just being my usual rude self.

1 hour later…

@Jacobm001 I'll be 25 next week...

user139252
I've got VHS copies of the original Star Wars trilogy, the first Harry Potter film....

I bought a digitizer for them when my actual VCR finally died.
