12:00 AM
should've moved that rook man
Nd4 was where I lost the game

I know what I wanted with that pawn;

A queen?

no, a single pawn and tying up your rook
the whole point was to pin the rook else I get a queen, and then go prod things with other pieces
except I have a light bishop
so... yeahhhhhhhh
I dunno lol
after 26. Nd4 not all is lost, though
26 ... h5
and then not Ke1 (why)
but Nf4
then I'd counter with Bg4
at which point you're free to use the rook to murder the fk out of that pawn
maybe I'll back it up with my rook, but then it's stable
so Rh1

I'd let your pawn that mine and retaliate with the rook and force a rook exchange with that king

I saw that but it didn't work =)

12:06 AM
I dun goofed on that pointless knight move and most importantly on that pawn exchange

so after Rh1 I can I force the issue with Bxf3+ but gxf3 as reply and
then you've got pawns that make structures and mine don't
you'd get a balanced endgame, I think

I think I could've won had I moved my rook forward instead of Nd4 back then
or at least make you have a heart attack before the game was over
which is technically a win I guess

... lawl
what move precisely?

26.Nd4

26. Ra5?

12:09 AM
Yep

... Bb5
oh snap
then 27. Nd4
and I'm forced back
or....
27 ... h5

uhum, Ra5 was a solid move

28. Nxb5
and I'm down a bishop
retaliating leads to my two rooks getting rekt
also interesting endgame
so yeah, plenty of ways out of that one
you play 27. Ke1
are we fucked yet
well h4 says hello because nothing is more fun than promotions
then you put g3
and then what?
because if I hit it, you hit back
if I walk past, you move the rook to Rh1
then 29... Rg4
and you're down a pawn
because if you try to trade then I give check and get to take rook via discovered attack
and if you move it it gets murdered
don't really know how that line would go, but I think you end up just 1 point behind
maybe I harass you off h1 with the light bishop after that
probably, because there's nothing to block that
I think I eventually get a queen and trade a rook for the queen
but by then the damage is done
I win, but it takes a while.
except he plays 28. Kf1
are you fucked now?
h3, because promotions...
well, if you hit it, then you lose (=D)

Dunno
Well

yes you do
gxh3, Bxh3+

12:22 AM
this was an awesome game :D

then either block off with rook which is sacrificed
or move king and ...
well, it has to be Ke2, because Ke1 = woo, 10 points for free

I have to go eat something

why did you resign

Because it was a clear win for you
I'd circle jerk until you hit a mate position

but Ke2
there is no reply

12:25 AM
your rook takes mine

and vice versa
I'm not even sure why I was shouting "REKT"
=D it was obviously wrong

I totally forgot about that other rook!
I just thought "well now I'm done"
My fuckup :p

it was a really clever march that led to ... nothing

Are you up for another one tomorrow? I'm kind of in a ruch now :p

maybe, maybe not
depends on how I'm feeling

12:28 AM
Alrighty
I'll be off now, good game, go do whatever europeans do at night

after Ke2 I have to take your rook
after that I don't know
lets ask a chess engineeee
it says black does 31. ... Rc8

12:45 AM
then 32. Kd2
... Rc5

1:20 AM
33. Rb1 Bc8 34. f4 Ra5 35. Rb6 Kd7 36. Rb1 Kc7 37. Rg1 f5 38. Rg7+ Kb6
and stuck on 3 move repetition
via 39. Rg8 Kc7 and then back to turn 38
taking the 2nd suggestion instead:
39. exf5 Bxf5
and stuck on 44. Re7 Bg4 45. Rf7 Bh3 46. Rg7 Bf5 47. Re7 Bg4 48. Rf7 Bh3 49. Rg7 Bf5 50. Re7 Bg4 51. Rf7
an infinite loop.
it's a draw, eventually.

@BernardMeurer So next time, don't resign when I say "I've won!" because I might screw up =D

Q: How to handle resignations from unlost positions when learning?

PimgdI played a game against bemeurer, a friend of mine who's learning chess. He's only got me to play against but he's learning quite quick. Of the 8 games we played so far, I won all of them. Most quite easy, but this last one was a tough fight. We play on Chess.com, which has a chatbox. [fen "...
