this goes to trading pieces again - when you're 9 points down at the start of the game, ehhhhh well ofc it sucks and ofc you're on a fast track to a loss, but your opponent has 33% more points than you do...
and about the same in play
I had rook + knight + bishop + 2 pawns in active play
you had 1 bishop and 3 pawns or so
that's 13 vs 6 and then it's overwhelming
yes, you certainly did a lot better here
a common chess strategy is to think moves ahead
but that's a bit vague advice
better advice is that you're playing the game from two sides, always
the nasty part about all this however is that uh
the player that is winning can usually think in the opponents time
so you think long and hard about your move
eventually play one of the 3 moves I expected
I play the move I wanted to make for that move
and then you're back on the spot
