I'm trying to do the quest "Slime mold of the gods" and think I've mapped all of the Scarlet Pillars, but apparently not because I can't find the glowing tree described in the quest. Where can I find it?
Emerging markets or emerging economies are nations with social or business activity in the process of rapid growth and industrialization. The economies of China and India are considered to be the largest. According to The Economist many people find the term outdated, but no new term has yet to gain much traction. Emerging market hedge fund capital reached a record new level in the first quarter of 2011 of $121 billion. The seven largest emerging and developing economies by either nominal GDP or GDP (PPP) are China, Brazil, Russia, India, Mexico, Indonesia, and Turkey.

> Wow, it really shows how poor our language for describing the level of development of an economy is. It's like we never even considered that an economy could move from a higher level of development from a lower one, and so we just labelled all of the less developed economies "emerging" as though there was only one direction to go. Hilarious (unless you are Greek).

On Windows, how would I go about displaying FPS in Crysis 3.
I found some console commands on this link
CRYSIS 3 IN GAME CONSOLE COMMANDS FOR GRAPHICS TWEAKS
But it doesn't seem mention how to display FPS.
I installed the Mo'Creatures mod into Minecraft, then made a fish bowl. After catching a fish I went to put it on top of a bookshelf in my room, but instead of placing it, the bowl just dropped at my feet. When I tried to pick it up my character put it on his head. Now I'm stuck with a fish bowl ...
I've played several games of Civ 5 with the Gods and Kings expansion, and it seems like every game has involved a similar cast of characters (Austria, Sweden, Byzantium) as well as many of the new natural wonders (the ones that give faith).
This was interesting to see the new content, but now it...
While SOIS might not want to do it, we, as the user, can. And the script is absolutely ridiculously simple - so simple that I'm surprised nobody has posted it yet. Ah well, free Meta rep here I come:

Shameless plug - if you're tired of seeing tags show up in your tabs, use this script
@YiJiang'sEvilClone users are hard deleted, so the system wouldn't have much to tell me about them even if it did give me such a list (which it doesn't).
> Please paint me a bat in a leotard being distracted by a violin sticking out of a rainbow coloured bottle bank next to a three legged toffee crisp holding a mushroom and half a wasp. In the background is a turtle having a tennis lesson, and an upside down Taj Mahal covered in ears.
> Brave little toaster (from the children’s animation film) in bed with two slim sexy soldiers (the bread type), smoking a cigar with used pop tart wrappers strewn across the floor and an empty tub of ‘I cant believe its not butter’ on the side. To the side of the room, an egg has walked in to find the scene and has spurted his yolk everywhere in anger, as the soldiers are HIS bitches. Also note he has matching Marmite curtains and bedsheets with slogan, keeping toast filthy since 1914!
@badp I forget. I think I've seen win 3.1 but if I have it's been al ong time. But I know there were many games/programs in the early 90s that still had similar progress bars
Strange to think that I won't have bought that book if not for the library. His books aren't cheap, and I only got it because I was a fan of his work, which I wouldn't have been had I not already read them in the library
Microsoft sells "full" (non-Arcade) games on its Xbox Live Marketplace as digital downloads ("Games on Demand"). On average, are GoD loading times significantly faster than that of the disc version "installed" to the hard drive? Or are the access times identical because the data and retrieval tec...
Is there a service or a plug-in for a dedicated Battlefield 2 server that would monitor, and ping via cell-phone text message, e-mail, Twitter, FaceBook or otherwise communicate that there are players on the server? Preferably, something that can be adjusted to be triggered by a certain amount of...
@theUg Hmm. I'm not sure. You're looking for a method outside of a game. There are things that are related to playing the game, like D3's or WoW's Armory, and we have questions like that. But those are official websites, and you're looking for a third party program.
When providing battle support, units offer AVO, which is Avoidance. I know it directly lowers enemy's chance to hit.
But units can also increase DDG. I can't find anything in the in-game help about what it does, or what it stands for. Presumably, it's meant to be short for Dodge, but I've see...
@theUg It's not so much a problem of it being official or not; it's that any answers you get (if it's not just, "Nope, doesn't exist."), is that it's an unbound list. No way to keep an answer up to date, or even ensure an answer is complete. It'll become a popularity contest.
It's the main reason we don't like recommendation questions.
Check out this question. It presents a problem. I don't know if you can re-word your question to present the problem without asking for a piece of software.
Doing a fast search, I can't seem to find any question about "out of game" that's not related to games that have a central server type architecture.
@theUg server-administration is a different beast than asking for software rec. It's about creating and setting up your server, and if you have a problem, you come ask us. It's not to be used for the example above.
There is no built-in implementation in a Vanilla Minecraft server to force a save every X minutes, then back up the files into a folder. I would like a script or something else (maybe a plugin that's configurable) to do this for me. I know how to do log rotations and I can also do a normal backup...
Mostly because that seems to just be a stealth software rec.
@theUg Bleh. That's a horrible question, and an even worse answer.
Our stance is somewhat vague on that sort of thing; we're going through a phase about mod recommendations, and that's throwing some recommendations into gray areas.
Hence why there's no close votes on yours, or that one.
@theUg Honestly, I'm not sure it can be made to fit this site. It is a good question, and one I hope you can get an answer to. But list questions just aren't a good fit for our format :/
You could maybe get away with a simple "is there a way to retrieve the number of players on BF2 server", though that might lead to a solution you'd have to code/create yourself
@Ktash I was asking fbu, can I reword it to ask for a category of software, instead of specific solution, at least? Problem is, I could not even come close on several Google searches to find anything remotely like this, which is probably cause I am looking for a wrong thing (which picks up unrelated search noise).
A category of software would still lead to a list, which wouldn't fit our format
Alright, I'm gonna head towards that pillowy, soft surface where I rest my head for the evenings
gotta get up early tomorrow to skip work and go snowboarding, and my roommate is watching twilight so I have to try really hard to not take my life before going to bed

I have completely messed up my sleep schedule. It's kinda impressive.

I like including game names in my question titles. I feel it makes more grammatical sense and gives a clearer indication of what the question is about. From time to time, though, I see an editor come through and delete the game name from the title, calling it unnecessary. And I'm ok with that ...

I've built a test setup: six powered rails on the bottom of a 40-block incline of unpowered rail, and a short loop of rail on the bottom.
If I ride in a cart slowly onto the powered rail, it pushes me near the top of the incline, almost ...
turns out that sending me a replacement unit is a more complicated process than expected
I thought sending an item with irreparable defects for warranty would be a faster process than what it's turning out to be
Now I can't help but imagine that somebody is actually performing surgery on my Nexus 7 to replace just the thirty or so dead pixels - each smaller than the eye can see.
Stack Overflow has an extensive tag system which allows users to identify what technology is involved in a question, watch or ignore certain subjects, narrow their searches to a specific area, and even learn about the tag's subject via its wiki.
This tag system works. You can rely on it to noti...
@BoltClock looks like Steve's question is more about the auto-suggested questions list rather than the actual act of putting the tag in the title
which from the point of view of Arqade does look like a problem, in that the auto-suggested questions list for 'how can I change difficulty' contains one for each game we have a tag for pretty much
dammit typing long sentences with this much lag is painful
@YiJiang'sEvilClone I'd say adding a new battery is a useful thing to be able to do, but lets face it, by the time the battery is gone your tablet is obsolete anyway.
@badp It wouldn't have to, the question is clearly about the list of auto-suggested questions based on the fact he drew freehand circles all over the list of auto-suggested questions
I'm just approaching it from the point of view of how to resolve the cause of the question, rather than linking off to what we all know is the policy on putting tags in the question title
I think the Nexus 7 can be opened; opening it to lock the speakers in place is the canonical internet solution to the Nexus 7 speakers problem apparently
...but you can't fix a broken display
@kalina the thing is, adding tags to the question is the last thing you do in the workflow of asking a question
Is there a standard for when we should edit game names out of question titles?
If there is a standard, what's the rationale?
If not, can I use my judgment?
Now, as for the rationale for putting tags in the question title to begin with
I know that cutting as many limbs as fast as possible if fighting non-boss necromorph enemies, is a good way of taking them down fast.
However, I asked this question because my currently preferred primary weapon for fighting most non-boss necromorphs is a Javelin Gun (Telemetry Spike + Default T...
