Q: Cannot connect to world on MCPE server?

I can't connect to my MCPE server that is hosted on my VPS. I get the error "Unable to connect to world" on my Apple device when trying to connect. The server is hosted on a port other than 19132 because of the firewall on my internet. My other friends can connect since they do not have a firewal...

Basically this question is 100% Developer Intent in my book because A) To answer it, you'd have to know the code which would require breaking the TOS as there is no way to know this through user observation and B) Even if you did, the logic is determined on the server, so there is actually no way of knowing for sure

You disabled the router and broke dhcp on the pi so no one was getting anything and everything started panicking

@Chippies dhcp gives out IP addresses and other network related information. Then it's unused for hours. The router transfers traffic to the internet. It doesn't care what the traffic is

@SaintWacko DHCP is usually done by the gateway. It doesn't have to be done that way, and you don't want to do that since your Pi isn't the gateway, but that might be part of your problem.

You're still getting the Pi to set the router as the default gateway when it receives a DHCP request, right?

(and itself as the DNS server?)

Also, more to your question, I'm pretty sure DHCP is done over UDP, not TCP. You don't need to know where to send your packets, you just need to hope someone is listening.

@SaintWacko I'd check those configs. pi-hole may not have used the proper settings
