12:06 PM

@fredley Can we get Cambridge and York in that too?

@Ronan Maybe

Mainly York, I'm leaving Cambridge in a week.

@Ronan :(

Just all move to Canada.
3
We can start our own Business, and call it "Scotlond"

12:08 PM
@fredley Of course I'll be heading back to Nottingham for a bit, which managed to fuck this up.

@Ronan :(

@Wipqozn everyone move to the netherlands
I don't really care why

York did good though, 58% stay.
Well, 'good'

@Ronan 78%, get on my level
Please, UK, get on my level
5

100% of all people in my country voted for britain to stay
Also 0%, also undefined%

12:11 PM
@fredley I mean, I voted for stay 100%.

@KevinvanderVelden UK Nationals living throughout the EU got a vote, IIRC

@fredley We beg of you.

@Ronan I voted as many times as I could
Sadly, that was only once

So what do you think the chances are for Scotland to hold another referendum?
@fredley So did I. Sadly, that was 0 times.

12:13 PM
@MBraedley :(

RIP the UK
RIP @fredley
RIP @Ronan
RIP @Wipqozn

If I were living in the UK (or maybe even the EU), I'd have gotten a vote, even without holding EU citizenship.

@RIPqozn

@MBraedley wat?

@MBraedley Which is more than UK folks living abroad would have gotten

12:14 PM
@fredley I'm a commonwealth citizen.

Guys, I'm so sorry, but I just thought of a joke

@MBraedley Don't think you get a vote
@Wipqozn :(

You should ask on Lifehacks.SE for a Lifehack for not leaving the EU
I'M SO SORRY
It's not even a good joke

I get it
That's funny

In all seriousness

12:16 PM
I'm a terrible person.

Sorry about your country @fredley @djsmiley2k @Ronan

@twobugs :(

@twobugs Thanks.

> Commonwealth migrants from 54 states - including Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan and Nigeria - could join the electoral roll as long are they are residents in the UK.

The pound hitting 30 year lows already. I wonder if the pro-brexit people are starting to realize just how foolish they are (they aren't)

12:18 PM
@twobugs no ragrets

They're tired of those "experts" sitting smug in their offices or wherever being right

Hopefully this isn't a precursor to The Trumpening

@Unionhawk Fuck that campaign in particular

@twobugs yes it is

@Unionhawk Damn "experts" and their "economies"

12:19 PM
Trump is in the UK today

QUICK SHUT THE BORDERS. Sorry @fredley @Ronan but it's worth it

He'll be joining his buddies Putin and ISIS in gloating about it

@twobugs It should be a wake up call to the entire world that Trump is a very real possibility, and that xenophobic sentiment is growing worldwide.

Whoa, Trump only says that OBama is buddies with ISIS

Isn't he there on business though and not politics, or is he trying to like, say he has foreign policy knowledge since he's been to another country

12:20 PM
Trump just pals around with Putin and Kim

@Unionhawk like hell he isn't going to take a smiling selfie with ukip dude and make a statement or two

Except his entire interaction with said country is "fuck you guys I'm building a golf course"

I'm just happy when Harper tried to make anti-muslim sentiment part of the US election we told him "fuck you", and kicked his part out of office

he's already made his glowing comments about this unmitigated disaster

He's one of the idiots who thinks this is a great thing isn't he

12:22 PM
naturally

@Unionhawk Yes
I'm sure he'll be offering to build the UK a giant wall before long

Goddammit you'd think a man with nonzero business knowledge like him would understand like, how stuff works

@Wipqozn When they're over water they're called bridges.

@Unionhawk he understands what people want to hear

@Unionhawk non zero? He's performed under the market with his billions

12:23 PM
@badp yeah, didn't he say years go if he ever ran for president he'd just appeal to the lowest common denominator?

and he understands that people are happy to hear fibs and lies and listen to conmen and frauds

I mean below zero is technically non zero

The thing is Trump is slumping in polls, has no fundraising system, AND has no national campaign
He has an uphill battle

@KevinvanderVelden Not to mention the 4 big ventures that have gone bankrupt.

@twobugs people LOVE uphill battles, it's the merican dream

12:24 PM
@KevinvanderVelden He's got businesses, many failures, but some successes

@twobugs I'd still be scared tbh. You've got a long road until the election, long enough that everything could change

@badp It's not the Trump dream

@fredley oh yeah america is insane and starts years in advance

@fredley The fundraising and the campaign infrastructure are NOT two things that can be easily fixed

When is the election anyway?

12:24 PM
But believe me, I'm still worried
November

Frankly thinking Trump doesn't have a chance after Brexit is just foolish
5

That's not as bad as I thought

Nobody said he doesn't have a chance, but if you look at the data he's not in a good place right now

A lot of folks Brexit was foolish without a chance, and looks like many folks stayed home and din't vote because of that. Look where we are now.

For use in cases like "need to reply to people who caused brexit to succeed" and "need to reply to people who caused Trump to become president"

12:26 PM
@twobugs True. Hate finds a way though.
@Wipqozn I don't think they did, the turnout was massive
Turns out there's more hateful xenophobic people here than we thought, whoops!

Again, I'm saying Trump is still a very real threat.
BUT!!! He doesn't have the upper hand right now.

Yeah, him mismanaging shit is very good

We had a headache, so we shot our foot off. Now we can't walk, and we still have the headache.

Right now he is polling lower than any major candidate has at this point in the last 3 elections

@Unionhawk handy

12:28 PM
I'm not saying "sorry about your country" as this will affect the rest of the world too.

@twobugs Oh yeah, polls, polls are great, lets trust polls.
we have the best polls

Sorry about our world @everyone except @MBraedley, he is an alien

The polls on brexit were 50-50

👽

So

12:29 PM
@fredley You can't just disregard them. They're a piece of the puzzle

They're all we have rn

Oh hey, it's @Sterno

Hi @Sterno

I'm too lazy to Google. Was the UK dumb?

The UK did a dumb
Yes

12:30 PM
That + the fact that Trump has like 1/10th what either the Clinton or the Sanders campaign has in terms of fundraising and staff

Let 6/23 forever be known as "Independence Day (United Kingdom)"

@Wipqozn people might see the economical effects and git gud and not vote trump, bit unlikely

@Sterno They voted to leave the EU

It's okay, guys, you can come live with me in the US. :)

The UK cast off their shackles of prosperity

12:31 PM
At least, let it be known that to the British Donald Trump, and nobody else because that's stupid

To enter a new era of stagnation!

@Sterno and when Trump becomes president you can all come to live with me in Canada!
(Also it felt really good to say that, didn't it @Sterno?)

@Sterno yes

I'm white. Trump won't try to kill me.
2

@Sterno Not on purpose.

12:32 PM
@Wipqozn I've been waiting like a decade to say it

@Sterno Can you provide a daughter to marry or something?

@Sterno But he still will

@Ronan There is that. And he'll still sue me.

@fredley I think you'd need to wait 14 years.

"Who does this guy think he is, saying I won't kill him. THAT'S LIBEL. WE'RE GOING TO OPEN UP OUR LIBEL LAWS TO DESTROY @STERNO"

12:33 PM
@Wipqozn Not in Donald Trump's America, friend

@Wipqozn I mean, I'm sure we can get trump to lower the age of consent. Given how he talks about his own daughters

@Wipqozn Or a nephew/niece or anything really.

@twobugs oh god twobugs, that made me chuckle. nicely done.

@Sterno Th...this is how it starts...

Well at least you can take down trump if you regret

12:33 PM
@twobugs I'm not your friend, buddy

But no way UK is getting back in EU

Ooh ooh. @fredley start a bloody revolt before the article is invoked
@ardaozkal they're still in the EU

At this point, I know who I'm voting for, and that's really all I can do probably

They've not invoked the thing that starts the leaving of the EU

Pretty much everyone is entrenched at this point

12:34 PM
@fredley My sister is recently single. The divorice isn't finalized yet though.

@Wipqozn That's what murder is for

Just think, decades from now everyone will be able to point back to 2016 as the year everyone went stupid
10

@Unionhawk I'm honestly considering getting involved in the campaigning

@Sterno ........oh no

The prospect of a Trump presidency terrifies me.
4

12:35 PM
@Wipqozn Perfect, keep me in the loop. I'm assuming she's basically like you, so if any questions come up I'll be able to answer them perfectly.

@twobugs As it should
@fredley oh, just one thing, you're a woman right? Because my sister isn't into dudes.

@Sterno 1934 was also pretty dumb to be honest

@Wipqozn It isn't going to be that kind of marriage

@fredley lololol

If Democrats gain control of congress, everything would deadlock. If Republicans gain control? We can expect to lose a lot of ground on every issue
Trump appointing 2 or more Justices is BAD

12:36 PM
@twobugs We have the best Justices.

Speaking of losing ground, where did we land on Rubio/Cruz's bill that was literally "this bill undoes the thing the FCC did where they reclassified the internet to be a utility, and removes their authority to do that ever again"?

Wow, the lyrics to the first verse of Fastball - The Way are oddly applicable to the current situation.

Did that ever land anywhere?

I don't know and I'm scared

I mean, I know we've landed in a few 4-4 situations which is SUPER GREAT

12:37 PM
Republicans blocking Obama's pick is really worrying though. He's president, he's still president for almost a year when Scalia died. It should totally be his pick.

Q: Freezing with multiple Mei's

ShaeldonSo, I was wondering if more then one Mei are using the freeze attack on a target, does it freeze faster?

Q: Has anyone for fallout 4 found out the max turret level for each settlement area?

JmonkSo i Read some the guides about turrets, turret levels, spawning turrets, and what level turret shoots what, but has anyone developed a table of what the max level turret for each settlement area is?

Dear Democrats: you should have held a sit in on something even more important like that thing
Well, as important, at least

> They made up their minds,
and they started packing.
They left before the sun came up that day.
An exit to eternal summer slacking;
But where were they going
without ever knowing the way?

@fredley The most ridiculous part is that Obama picked a very reasonable and centrist Justice
Not shocking given that Obama himself is pretty much center-right

@fredley something something tradition something something but only when we're not the ones in power something something

12:40 PM
The whole blocking picks thing is ridiculous. Nobody should do it. Not Democrats, not Republicans
If you don't like the pick hold an actual hearing and shoot them down via the actual real democratic process

@twobugs I can't believe you don't have a proper process for this

We do. They're blocking the process.

@KevinvanderVelden ikno but ignoring the results would cause more issues. Can't fix economy if it keeps going like this too

I mean hopefully this will backfire on the Republicans, and instead of getting a moderate, they'll get someone further left instead.

It's really important. To be honest I'm surprised it's a sitting president's pick anyway.

12:42 PM
What would be particularly funny would be Hillary getting elected and then this appointment getting fast-tracked because Republicans realize it's actually a good middle ground.
@fredley It's one of the President's key powers
The President doesn't have as much direct power otherwise

@fredley it's also an appointment that's for life
WHY DO YOU HAVE THOSE THINGS?

@fredley But who else would do it? A house or senate committee? That would be insane.

The next president probably

It's president nomination, senate confirmation
The process is pretty clear
And if the republicans don't like it they can vote no
OR THEY CAN JUST NOT VOTE BECAUSE FUCK EVERYTHING

@KevinvanderVelden The idea is to have Justices that are free from political influence
Since they're appointed for life they just do their thing

12:44 PM
Well at least you don't elect your whole upper house that way. I mean that would be awful.

Which, for people like Scalia, is commit horrible atrocities

Yeah, in reality it means that you get people who are 40 years behind the times on anything deciding everything

@twobugs and make up words like SCOTUSCARE

The balance of powers is in theory one of the best parts of the US government. In practice, it can cause problems like a government shutdown, though.

REMINDER THAT "SCOTUSCARE" WAS A REAL THING THAT HE SAID

12:46 PM
Reminder that Scalia explicitly mentioned Gay Marriage in explaining why he endorses the death penalty.

@twobugs To be fair, I'm not sure it's a proper process if it can be blocked for pretty much no reason other than as year-long stalling tactic

Reminder that Scalia said he would make us pay for legalizing gay marriage

A big part of the problem with US politics is the abnormally long campaign periods. We've been doing this for over 8 months now, and we're still more than 4 months away from the general election.

Need time for Facebook memes

@MBraedley It's giving people enough time to be sick of Trump.

12:51 PM
BEGIN COPYABLE "DEAR SENATOR: STAP", REPUBLICAN VERSION
Senator X,

I don't know where you personally sit on the whole obstructing the selection of a 9th supreme court justice issue. However, your party is all for it.

The process is very clear. The current sitting president makes a selection. The senate does hearings and a vote. That's it. There is no rule that says "well if it's the beginning of an election year and your party *might* win the presidency then you can't hold a hearing". **No political party should be allowed to obstruct the process in this manner**. I do not care if the democrats did it back in whenever, it was wrong then too.

@Unionhawk what even the fuck.Man, fuck greedy politicans being paid off by greedy ISP

user215373
hi

but it hurts small business innovations like Xfinity video

user215373
check this out

12:53 PM
do you just hat e small business Mr. Qozn?

@Unionhawk What if I don't have republican senators?

@StrixVaria I've got both so I'm going to get one that's basically "dear guys: this is kind of important"

@Wipqozn It won't happen

I'm kind of surprised I haven't been hearing more about how the republicans are acting unconstitutional.

@fredley yeah,. wasn't sure. I see it's hit "Gov't needs to consider it" stage

12:55 PM
@Wipqozn You should totally get Enter the Gungeon. And then play it all day.

I thought they were big on the constitution.

@StrixVaria because american news is terrible

@Wipqozn And they'll go 'lolnope, we just did one and you voted exit'

if you're having a repeat, please ban everyone who's retired from voting

@GnomeSlice I picked up Cloudbuilt yesterday and played the first bunch of levels. Really cool game.

12:58 PM
@badp have everyone's vote be proportional to the amount of years they're expected to have to deal with this shit
@Dr.ZOMBOOS yes you just posted this

@Dr.ZOMBOOS Stop spamming.

user215373
