Senators blame Obama for not explaining a bill that they overrode his veto on.

Basically, the bill allowed for US citizens to sue foreign nations.

The common scenario proposed was that victims of 9/11 could sue Saudi Arabia.

Of course, the wording of the bill means that the reverse could happen, foreign nationals could sue the US.

Veto was overridden with a Senate vote 97-1, so it's not just Republicans.

I find it rather disturbing that I can't really distinguish satire from reality when it comes to US politics anymore. If I didn't already know that this was real, I would have considered it satire

@Unionhawk Well, the bill had "9/11" in the title and we know what happened last time, not counting the Zadroga Bill.

Although that's maybe because it was called the "Zadroga Bill" and not "Provide Aid to the 9/11 Rescue Workers, You Jerks Bill".
